Hello Camden,

Thank you for posting an educational post about your measures of effect and their application in epidemiology. Your post has several strengths that convey the purpose of your discussion to the audience. First, the accurate description of the use of immunizations to prevent potential health outcomes allows the audience to understand the association between them. To enhance further understanding of the need for measures of effect in nursing practice, you may consider providing the audience with additional information about the various measures of relative risk. You may discuss the various ratios involved and how the interpretation of these values can help nurses make decisions concerning patient health (Friis & Sellers, 2014). Your post has also highlighted some possible dangers of lack of use of measures of effect in creating interventions for either disease prevention or treatment. Your clear description of the possible outcomes that may arise due to practitioners’ negligence has given me new insight into the importance of measures of effect (Tripepi et al. 2010). Allow me to ask, as a nurse, what interventions would you take to obtain the outcomes obtained?

Hello Thacker,

Thank you for posting an interesting post about your of the importance of methods of effect in nursing practice. Your discussion clearly describes the advantages that nursing practitioners gain from the use of measures of effect. You also discussed the importance of each ratio and how the data from these analyses can be used in the development of specific prevention and treatment methods for patients (Friis & Sellers, 2014). This section has given me a different understanding of the use of measures of association in different aspects of nursing. However, it is essential to identify the needs of the audience. One concern for the audience is the possible dangers associated with a lack of use of measures of association. A strategy that may help is discussing the poor outcomes that may arise when nurses fail to adopt measures of association in their analysis of disease. You may find this information from credible sources (Tripepi et al. 2010). I am curious, what is your opinion on the effectiveness of measures of association in treatments?
