Mount Merapi in Indonesia erupted twice on 21st June 2020, sending clouds of ash 6 kilometers into the sky, according to Indonesia’s geological agency. The eruptions caused grey ash to fall on some of the villages on the slopes near the cultural capital of Indonesia, known as Yogyakarta. The eruption injured no person, but it has impacted on the usual way of life of people as they cannot go about their usual activities. The financial costs of the hazard have not been documented.

- Description of the natural hazards event:
A storm hit the City of Calgary on 21st June 2020 in the afternoon, leading to high-level flooding as the water was left standing in various communities, including; Saddleridge and Falconridge. Water pooling led to the closure of three lanes on the Deerfoot. There was also a traffic tie-up as vehicles tried to drive through the water or find alternative routes. No person has been harmed, and the financial estimates of the hazard are not shown.

- Description of the natural hazards event:
A huge Saharan dust plume is making a more than 5,000-mile trek across the Atlantic to the US. It is coming from the coastline of West Africa. It is dense and makes it hard to tell where the continent ends, and the ocean begins. The dust is expected to move over the Southeastern US next week. It will impact the ability of people to go about their normal activities. No cost estimates have been shown.

- Description of the natural hazards event:
On Monday 22nd June 2020, an earthquake of magnitude 5.3 hit Mizoram at 4:10 am. Its depth was 20 km. The earthquake was established to be minor and, therefore, other than causing fears among people, no damage to property or harm on human life was caused. No financial costs were established to have been caused by the earthquake.
