Reflection Paper
Throughout the course, I learned a lot of things, however, I will summarize the most crucial information that directly impacts my life. Creating and implementing policies is vital while handling different societal challenges. Oftentimes, policy intervention is typically costly and have a long term impact (Pearlson, Saunders, & Galletta, 2019). The policies have long term effects on the nation or individuals and more importantly, they are not easily reversed. The latest advancement and development in information technology and models may aid in improving the quality of policymaking processes.
The rapid growth in the information computational power, as well as social networks, can result in new opportunities to create solutions and IT-based research as well as policy-making processes. The firms that are highly dependent on information technology have attained a vital competitive advantage over others that are still in the analog era (Pearlson, Saunders, & Galletta, 2019). It is also important to note that proper planning, management of IT and formulation, maintained efficiency in organizational operations, and a conducive workplace, the decision-making process is effective. Through the help of technology acquisition as well as
, the organization focus on meeting the development gap within the technological industry. One of the greatest activities in companies is policymaking. Technology is the primary influencer of the decision making policy process. More so, through the help of information technology, the artificial intelligence system, and decision-making system are developed.
The policymakers and individuals who implement them must know that ICT is advancing to become quite crucial in transforming the process of policymaking thus resulting in the policymaking process founded on information technology. Further, the policymaking process is rapidly changing and the change is driven by the innovation including opinion mining, processing data, visualization, and simulation together with social networking tools, public engagement, and participatory. Consequently, the policymaking process is affected by uncertainties of the outcome and the complexity that result in the development of the policy model which deals with this (Pearlson, Saunders, & Galletta, 2019). The policy-making in IT is typically influenced by the need to offer solutions to different social issues and should result in interventions to address these social problems. The policymaking process is continuous where challenges are typically identified as the problem.
The course did meet my expectations. The coursework was useful especially with the assistance from class mate’s posts, it helped me understand the context of the course and I enjoyed every bit of it. I did not expect to learn anything which wasn’t covered. The coursework gave me the material which I had no idea sometimes back. The course gave me facts I did not understand as well. Throughout the course, I did not find anything particularly challenging, therefore the course was fair. I did not find anything easier throughout the coursework since everything was entirely fair. I enjoyed the classes and every time I learned new concepts, it kept me yearning for more information and insight. Further, the course was full of new interesting information. There was nothing bring because I was passionate about the course and everything was enjoyable.
Everything, the course was full of new and interesting information. The context I have learned throughout the course will help me in future academic work, through the application of skills to make sure that individuals adhere to the right policy-making process to attain the set objectives. The course was not only educative and informative it shed light on my thinking and understanding in the world of policymaking process through the help of information technology.
