Making Relationships Last
Human Sexuality: Diversity in Contemporary America is a book that provides a forward-thinking and open approach to human sexuality among students. The authors provide extensive research on the current “sex-positive” approach. The manuscript also attempts to denote the modern, diverse world that learners encounter away from the classroom. In the text itself and all through the archetypal art and photo program provided by the authors, the primary emphasis is on inclusion. The book has been applauded by students and tutors alike for offering an impartial and non-judgmental outlook of sexual orientation. The authors encourage learners to become active in and about their sexual happiness and affirm the significance of upholding and encouraging affection and mutual satisfaction in sexual expression (Yarber, Sayad, & Strong, 2013). Other aspects that the authors address to help students foster their sexual relationships are balancing media portrayal of sexuality, popular culture, and sexual communication.
Human relationships change as technology also advances. I agree with the author’s opinion on how students need to make relationships last. In the first place, sexual happiness comes along with the effort those involved put in. Communication and expression also play an essential role in enhancing sexual happiness. Furthermore, students should not focus much on the media depiction of relationships, as in most cases, these representations are overrated (Yarber, Sayad, & Strong, 2013). Those in relationships must also balance with other societal aspects such as popular culture. Effective sexual communication is also essential in enhancing relationships.
Overall, the relationship principles are essential in my future relationships. The tips will enable me to establish an honest relationship based on mutual understanding. Although most factors, such as media portrayal and societal inclinations, impact how individuals approach relationships, I will focus more on my partner.
