Abstract

Every system of inequality or equality in political, communal, cultural, and economic realms, since it has stability and a normative, binding quality on the society members, it is entrenched in the traditional relationships of inequality or equality among groups and individuals in society. Additionally, it is also entrenched in the traditional membership right in the society like citizenship rights, the everyday traditional associations of groups and individuals, and the traditional beliefs in the inequality or equality of people. Based on the relationship between social equality and societal transformations, I shall examine the impact of social justice, particularly gender equality, on the post-industrial society advances. I shall further describe how the new technologies, such as a microchip, might change the social power balance between men and women in American society. The U.S. is rooted in two conflicting traditions, one that supports equality and the other which favours inequality. I will analyze if the implementation of Automated or Biotech Society will affect the balance of social power between different groups such as gender or class.

Introduction

If one is asked to choose a word that will characterize our today’s society, then the word change will be used by many. We live in a society that is changing so fast, thereby transforming our lives. The major source of this change is the technology development cantering on the microchip. This unintended factor in society is moderating inequality in society. The technological development has impacts on the factors like political participation of opportunities in local affairs, economic abundance, social inclusion, and uniform formal education. Additionally, there are intentional societal actions that are driven by the tension between the equality cultural idea of opportunity and the inequality social reality. The cultural discourse logic leads some individuals to take the equality idea to its logical extreme and propose that every existing inequality is evil and illegitimate. The main question on the recent developments is whether these changes may be a step towards a new type of society where the economy of the new biotech will centre on altering and applying genetic structures.

Social Equality

Dominant patterns of consumption, production, and distribution are heading in intensely unsustainable directions due to technology advancements. The technology change has become a significant driver of overexploitation of natural resources and earth systems processes such as key habitats loss, land pollution, and biodiversity. The atmosphere, seas, and land are increasingly becoming evident. As the scientific understandings are clarifying the huge social, economic, and environmental challenges brought about by threats of climate change and essential ecosystem loss sociologists such as Marx, propose that socialist society will also be affected by further technology advancement.[1] They propose that a socialist society would follow a capitalist and would represent a higher civilization stage. The changes might be too profound that they might lead to the fourth social revolution.

Although the underlying drivers and causes of gender inequality and unsustainability are deeply interlocked, the introduction of new biotech may further widen the gap between males and females. The development of unsustainable patterns’ effects intensifies gender inequality. This is because girls and women are frequently disproportionately affected by social, economic, and environmental stresses and shocks. Technology advancement will bring about development models that sustain specific types of market-led growth which is under-regulated and unequal power relations persistence between men and women. Such development patterns reproduce and rely on gender inequalities, exploiting the labour of women and unpaid care work. The same technological developments are major drivers of environmental problems because market actors will secure and seek profits in ways relying on the natural resources overexploitation and the climate, ocean and land pollutions. Such pathways in the market will lead in unstainable directions in ecological and social terms, and eventually in economic ones too, undermining the future progress conditions.

Gender equality achievement and realization of dignity, human rights, and capabilities of women diverse groups is a central requirement of a sustainable and just world.[2] For instance, why is there diversity in STEM Careers? While there is no denial of the statistics that show the disproportionate ratio of women and men in any STEM careers number, I vehemently argue that the ratio really matters and some fundamental contributing factors can be looked at to correct the course; stereotypes, unconscious bias, and leaky recruiting pipeline. To search for the possible solutions to the imperative ecological problem brought about by the technological advancements, where our purchases are scanned, two assumptions must be made. One is that an expanding economy has a destabilizing nature, and it is not essential to assume that its expansion is reliable on the exploitation of natural resources. Additionally, although the economy is less concerned by the destruction of the environmental consequences than other social systems, there is a need for action.

Technology and Social Power

Americans have expressed their views about how they think microchips will affect them. I would not want to use this technology myself, and I would not sign up to such an implant. This type of technology will bring a disparity between the adults and the young. A recent survey shows that most adult U.S. citizens view this technology type as morally unacceptable, while the young ones’ highlight that there is no solid proof about the moral implications of this technology.[3]  Additionally, technology has also brought many differences between religious groups with many Americans who are highly religious, pointing out that the device will meddle nature. While technology comprises of neutral physical elements, it enters social activity in descriptions inflected by dominant interests. The idea that while hegemony concept of technical design politics is useful, the view that hegemony is carried by specific social rationality is less pertinent. Technology serves social power. I argue that the method requires to be counterfactual and be applied carefully to specific technology design instances. The implementation of the microchip will benefit most.

Implementation of Biotech

Implementation of Biotech will make some jobs to be inherently or naturally geared toward members of the same sex or other. Soon, I think that if automated society comes into place, there will be a disparity of social class. The applications of these technologies eventually depend on their economic, social, and legal context. The state will control every aspect of the lives of citizens, thereby having a society that is entirely controlled by a certain social class. This raises an important question on whether it would be possible to ensure the rights of civilians. In this scenario, there is no guarantee of civil rights at all.

Conclusion

The idea of equal opportunity is one of the dominant equality definition in American society. The actual development of inequality and equality in society has been shaped by impacts of the ongoing discourse and by political, economic, and associational courses in society itself. Many processes like technological advancements might work unknowingly toward the increase in inequality. Different stakeholders like the religious, racial, and traditional have given their views on the development of biotech, and many proponents argue that it might lead to the fifth social revolution. However, some groups are working to establish political, cultural, associational, and economic barriers against up-coming groups. These tendencies of causing inequality have militated against greater tendencies of equality of opportunity. Political participation opportunities for aspiring political movements, economic abundance, mass consumption, growing middle-class development, unintentionally open communication work toward greater equality. Where the overwhelming changes, our lives are a new type of society part or just a proceeding of the one before it is not a significant point. The most significant one is the sociological changes: A transformed society sweeps along with it. The transformations that as a society we are experiencing are so rooted that they will alter the ways we think about life and self. We might even experience human species changes, an implication as a result of technology and sociology.
