America, as a nation, has progressed both in the technical aspect as well as governance and leadership. Being a developed nation it has been able to rule itself for decades, with a pre-set political system in place. This paper aims to elaborate on the various changes that have been undertaken and the impact these changes have had on the people of America. Through the elaboration of these changes, one will be able to understand fully the mechanism undertaken in the political sphere, the rules that have still been held since the Founding era, and the changes that have caused the greater impact.
The institutionalized form of lobbyists has been a major political driving force. Lobbyists are individuals who can sway a particular candidate to vote in a specific manner. Even though they previously had not been referred to with such terms, evidence hints at them being in existence since communities started to govern themselves. Lobbyists were started after the Founding era as a way to ensure the leaders chosen would not ignore citizen opinion-as previously done by King George. Therefore, the Constitution instituted protection to organizations willing to petition government bills (Schlueter, 2017). Instituting such mandates in the Bill of Rights and the Constitution cemented the place of the lobbyists in the political atmosphere of America. Through the congresswomen and men-whose main agenda is to air the views of citizens, primarily because they are representatives of constituents, they are constantly receiving calls and opinions from the general public (Schlueter, 2017). Lobbying is a significant change as it makes the citizens feel more involved through the lobbyists in how the turn of events like passing of bills goes. It creates a more participatory role for citizens to indulge in politics. In understanding the work done by lobbyists American citizens can comprehend better how they affect the passing of bills into law. They are also able to determine whether their views are listened to, as the lobbyists pass them to the necessary departments. However, with the recent activity of “professional lobbyists” the political scene associated with lobbyists is driving under murky waters as most are getting blamed for corrupting the system (Schlueter, 2017). Unclear regulations that citizens do not understand concerning lobbyism is affecting the politics with some using lobbyists to pass their interests and not that of the public.

Prevailing parties necessitate more attention and therefore more mass following. The citizens are thus able to understand why the political scene is dominated with only democratic and republican views, and how each party handles political upheavals (Noel, 2019).

They are not only creating confusing views among communities but having unclear precedence on what they believe. The same can be said for liberals who claim to be activists for science tech but would not support the progress of GMO foods (Biddle, 2018). The institutionalizing of the two opinions can be attributed to the two major political parties as they embody one of these beliefs. Inconsistencies of the principles held by both the liberals and conservatives are bound to create tension as support for some aspects in the political scene may be ignored. Splitting of citizens into the two groups is also bound to create room for some misgivings being ignored as some will be saying it is in support of their belief as either a liberal/conservative.

The government can encourage and show more support to minority parties by encouraging the assignation of new parties. Embracing a multiparty state is easier as it only dictates the government to create a conducive environment for the same to happen. It also enables individuals with different affiliations as to those embraced by either being a republican or a democrat to have an avenue of freely expressing themselves. With individual opinions, however, it’s hard to change as each individual has a right to his/her own opinion. Change of opinion also does not guarantee that the opinion that people should embrace is the correct one (Biddle, 2018). People may be able to change opinions to other more practical ones but there is always going to be room for more beliefs to be brought forward that individuals can embrace. Change makes it harder to keep up with beliefs which makes it harder to rationalize with either the liberal or conservative views.
