The fourteenth-century event chosen is black death. The event, Black Death, was significant in the fourteenth century since it contributed to the ends of more than twenty million people in Europe. The deaths consisted almost one-third of entire Europe’s population. The event appeared in Europe after twelve ships from the Black Sea anchored at one of the ports in Messina. The majority of the seamen in the ships were dead, and the survivors were gravely ill. Though the boats were sent away from the port, it was too late since the plague impacted the regions and entire Europe for the next five years.
The black death event and the Covid-19 have some similarities. The Black Death epidemic originated from eastern Asia, similar to the Covid-19 disease, which originated from one of the nations in Asia. The Black Death disease was highly contagious and could be spread by coming into contact with an infected person and touching an infected person’s clothes. Similarly, the Covid-19 is an infectious disease that is primarily spread by coming into close contact with an infected person and touching contaminated coverings and things. However, the black death and Covid-19 have some differences. Particular swellings characterized the Black Death either under the armpits or on the groin, which could enlarge to the size of an egg while others were small. Pus and blood leaked out of the tumors and were followed by some symptoms such as terrible pains, aches, chills, fever, diarrhea, and vomiting; death followed after a short period. On the other hand, Covid-19 is characterized by dry cough, fever, tiredness, shortness of breath, and chest pressure or pains.
