Secondly, the overall message in the novel

is preserved save for the character modification, storyline, and omission of speci

fic scenes in the book.  The theme of dangerous knowledge, love, family, and ambition exists in both cases (Shelley 27). In the novel, the core storyline centered on an ambitious and dangerous medical experiment where a student (Victor Frankenstein) deploys uncontrolled medical experiments to bring to life a creature that comes to torment the creator. His parents encourage him to pursue his studies and regularly check on him (Shelley 27). On the other hand, Victor Frankenstein works for a research company in which they tend to recover dead people (Sankil 25:27). Victor Frankenstein is determined to achieve success in dreams to resurrect the body. Also, his parent showed concerns for his welfare, thereby demonstrating love and care.  The theme of romance with nature for recovery and meditation is nonetheless ignored in the film adaptation. Even with a modification of story line the theme remains the same (Sankil).

Importantly there is deliberate change of character, setting and plot. For instance William is depicted as a full grown man instead of a young timid boy as in the novel. Moreover, the setting or location of the monster and William encounter is totally different (Sankil 34:00). William is murdered by creature in garden from the novel perspective where as in adaptation, William is murdered in a urban dwelling. There is also an attempt in the adaptation to resurrect William, Elizabeth and Henry which is absent in the novel’s plot. There also omissions of Victors retreat to nature. The modification of characters and omission of certain scenes results to de-emphasis of certain themes such as Importance of nature and meditation (Sankil 1:10:04).  Also the modification of character such as William to man changes the story line because there are particular attributed of kids and that are different from a man. For examples the speech for William during encounter with monster did not occasion a sense of fear.

Conclusively, the message in both film and novel to a greater extent converged. The difference raised in the strategies of resuscitating the dead, character modification for Instance William as a man. The plot also changes since William, Elizabeth, and Henry had experiments performed. I believe that a change of character, plot, setting and omission of theme altered the overall tone of the film
