Individuals with similar culture nurture social sequences that result in acquiring the same identity. Therefore, the family has a great influence on socio-cultural beliefs since an individual adapts to activities of the surrounding. Kathleen grew to see her mother experience periods of darkness since childhood and she adapted the behavior once she grew since she segregates herself from people to handle the situation herself. For instance, if her mother would social with people while she experienced the dark days then Kathleen would practice whatever her mother did. Family is among the socio-cultural factors that determine how an individual reacts to various circumstances.
The attitude of Kathleen affects her level of income since it is low; thus she cannot afford the hospital bill so her issue is addressed. Kathleen can enroll on a full schedule since the customers enjoy her company as she is very jovial and accommodative. Her work environment is favorable since the employer offers off days during the dark period. Kathleen believes that customers require entertainment she cannot maintain it during her dark days. Therefore, it is difficult to change her attitude and convince her to work since she has a different perception of her dark days.
Taboos exist in every community; thus, individuals draw a line to determine the behavioral extent. Kathleen cannot be comfortable around people when she is experiencing her dark moments since her family lineage has been performing the activity over the years. Kathleen’s employer has already identified her and cannot disrespect her belief is handling the period days.
