PRELIMINARY

Covid-19 is an infectious disease caused by the corona virus. Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Coronaviruses cause generally mild respiratory infections, such as colds, although some forms of disease such as SARS, MERS, and COVID-19 are more lethal.

At present there are more than 9.7 million confirmed cases from around the world. Data can continue to grow. Seeing from many existing cases, the Indonesian government began to implement a new normal policy where we have to adapt to new habits. Of course, with due regard to health protocols that have been advocated by medical personnel.

In Islamic Religion, many attitudes have been taught in facing exams or disasters. As Muslims, it must be able to see every test or disaster that God gives there is a silver lining. Always be sincere and pleased with all the provisions of God. Do not stop to give thanks and endeavor and believe that God’s plan is the best for his people.

DISCUSSION

. Coronavirus (Covid-19) is an infectious disease caused by a new type of virus that has never been identified in humans. This virus causes respiratory diseases (like the flu) with symptoms such as coughing, fever, and in more serious cases of pneumonia. There is no vaccine or antiviral drug to prevent or treat coronavirus infection in humans.

Covid-19 is officially designated as a global pandemic which affects all aspects of life such as education, economics, and of course health. This pandemic is a reminder for Muslims to always take refuge only in Allah SWT. This outbreak could be a warning from Allah for human behavior itself. As we already know, that humans cause much damage on this earth of God. In Islam, every test given by Allah must have a lesson. In addition, we can also look at Covid-19 by referring to the Qur’an and Hadith.

The Prophet Muhammad also warned his people not to be close to areas that were affected by the plague. Conversely, if you are in a place affected by an outbreak is prohibited to get out. As narrated in the following hadith: “If you hear an epidemic in a region, then do not enter it. But if there is an outbreak in your place, then do not leave that place.” (Bukhari HR). In the time of the Prophet Muhammad there was a contagious leprosy. The Prophet also forbade people to approach or see lepers, so during the Apostle the quarantine method was applied to prevent transmission.

The Covid-19 outbreak also had an impact on education in Indonesia. Many schools and educational institutions that conduct virtual meetings in the concept of learning, this is certainly related to human obligations in guiding science. This pandemic also certainly had a big impact on the people’s economy, where many employees were then laid off. But as Muslims, we must never give up or take actions that are detrimental to others for personal gain. As a person we must be sure that sustenance has become a provision of God. As the Word of Allah SWT:

وما من دابة في الأرض إلا على الله رزقها ويعلم مستقرها ومستودعها كل في كتاب مبين

Meaning:

“And there is not a creeping thing on the earth but it is Allah Who gives it sustenance, and He knows where it lives and where it is stored. Everything is written in the real Book (Lauh mahfuzh). ” (Surah Hud: 6)

In the above verse, Allah has explained His great power. God is the center of human life. Therefore fortune, death and match have been arranged by God. As people, our task is only to be grateful for the favors that Allah has given, to know and to always trust Him for everything that has become His determination.

Covid-19 is one of the viruses that was later designated by WHO as a global pandemic because of its spread that is so effective in social life, therefore the government recommends the implementation of physical distancing (keeping distance), diligently washing hands, using masks when traveling and reducing outside activities. a house that doesn’t matter. This is a form of our concern for others, of course Islam teaches it. In Islam it has also been taught to always maintain personal hygiene and the environment. Maintaining distance and shaking hands for those who are not mahrom has also been taught by Islam. As Muslims, we must follow the government’s recommendations for the common good. Of course this is also part of our endeavors in preventing Covid-19.

However, the data of the government’s sad news about the number of victims of this pandemic is not small. As Muslims, we must be sure that every living thing will taste death. As Allah Almighty says:

وما كان لنفس أن تموت إلا بإذن ٱلله كتبا مؤجلا ومن يرد ثواب ٱلدنيا نؤته منها ومن يرد ثواب ٱلءاخرة نؤته منها وسنجزى ٱلشكرين

Meaning:

“A living soul shall not die except by the consent of God, as the appointed time. Whoever wants the worldly reward, surely We give it the reward of the world, and whoever desires the reward of the Hereafter, We give it (the reward) hereafter. And we will reward those who are grateful. ” (QS. Ali ‘Imran: 145)

It has been explained in the above verse that the death of one is based on God’s permission and will. Losing someone we love and love as a result of illness must make us better. It can also be a warning to mankind to restore human relationship with God. In addition, the realization that what is happening is a decree of God is important so that we do not regret or grieve over what happened.

يَمْحُوا۟ ٱللَّهُ مَا يَشَآءُ وَيُثْبِتُ ۖ وَعِندَهُۥٓ أُمُّ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ

Meaning:

“Allah abolishes what He wills and establishes (and He has) the Book of the Quran.” (QS Ar-Ra’d: 39)

God makes it clear in the above verse that God wants to do what He wants. So, it is only God who wants to get rid of this Covid-19 outbreak. Our duty as a servant is to be patient and offer his determination.

According to Imam Suyuthi in the Interpretation of al-Jalalain, patience is to hold back from what you hate (al-habsu li an-nafsi ‘alaa takrahu). This is the attitude we must have when facing adversity. In addition, it is revealed that in the event of a disaster, we utter the sentence ‘(Inna lillaahi wa innaa ilaihi raaji’uun). Allah Almighty says:

Meaning:

“And surely We will give you a trial, with a little fear, hunger, lack of wealth, soul and fruit. And bring good news to those who are patient. ” (QS. Al-Baqarah: 155-156).
