Relation of Ethical issues experienced by healthcare workers in treating patients with self-inflicting pain and violent criminals raises an interesting topic. A focus on the interpersonal communication of the two parties involved is vital in creating a relationship that leads to ethical relativism. I agree with the choice of theory selected, utilitarianism, as it connects the consequences of an action to the made decision. I believe some care providers tend to disagree with their management as they differ on how to handle a particular patient while upholding the set ethics standards.
I concur with the fact that ethics in ethical communication in media has become an issue of concern, especially when it comes to telling facts. As much as the ethics code of conduct has been set to guide media personalities, it is still hard to determine how much they abide by them. For the longest time, certain critical information has been said to be controlled by people in power. At the end of the day, the media reports what they want us to see based on what they have been told rather than posting the matter’s actual facts. The theory of universalism will best explore the topic in terms of the Medias communication.
Ethical communication with inadequate imbalance is an exciting topic to explore, especially with the current rise of businesses, hence requiring higher power. Exploring power imbalance in communication ethics provides an overview of how much ethics is not put into consideration. Given that ethical relativism suits best to justify how other people behave in concern to those in power. I believe the decision of whether something is right or wrong lies in the person’s cultures, and it tends to affect them even in their line of duty.
