Literature review.
Vulnerable groups.
Within the public space, there is always a social difference among the groups. For this case, there lies a group that may not be able to fully utilize the available resources in the space. This group is what may be termed as vulnerable. Among the children, some children may not be in a position to use a public space due to their issues. In this case, they are not able to use the public spaces as the rest do. This may be caused by;
- Poor social backgrounds.
Most children fail to fully utilize public space due to their inability to socialize with new friends. Having a poor social background limit the ability to work on a new environment and hence inability to utilize the public space. In some other situations, new children who visit the public spaces may be unable to understand how the provided resources work and may fail to use them as needed. From this, they may feel off one out and cannot be comfortable being with the rest in the group. This leads to the development of stigma feeling and hence reduces the level of activity in the space. It’s from this point that most parents may decide not to take their children to these public spaces.
- Lack of parental support.
In some other cases, there is a negative view of parents on the use of public space. some parents view it as misuse of resources and time. This makes it hard for them to access public space. Also, some parents may lack time to take their children for entertainments and hence they won’t be able to attend the public space. Also, having a negative belief on the impacts of the social challenges brought in by access to public spaces. In this manner, they will allow their children to access the behaviour pissed by their fellow children and hence won’t allow their children to access the spaces. It’s therefore key for the parents to be the first ones to engage their children with others and encourage them to be in the public spaces and have good social behaviour.
- Poor understanding of the public spaces.
In many instances, there is a low understanding of the public places among the society and hence few children can access public spaces. The level of know-how is low and hence even if they are taken there, there is little they gain from the space and therefore low influence on the use of the public space. This makes them lose their interest in visiting these places. One having no understanding of the space influence their time allocation to the space visit. This lowers the level of children who have access to public space. More awareness should, therefore, be made to allow people to understand the purpose of the public spaces as well as access and advantages of visiting the public space. This will greatly increase the number of visits to public space.
4.Racism
Racial discriminations and tribal differences have greatly lowered the level of interactions and social behaviour of individuals. This has been linked to the highest level of differences between people as well as the core source of poor development in society. It is from this that most races fail to access social areas. The high level of racial discriminations, as well as tribalism, has lowered the level of security and hence affect the access to social space. It’s from this point that even children from some races cannot access public space due to their security purposes. Tribalism and racism are linked with most social evils and hence linked with a low level of access to public spaces. Most Chinese have been marginalized and always stigmatized. This has greatly influenced their cooperation and influence in the economy. This population is therefore limited to accessing most public utilities and hence they are not able to access public spaces.
- Precautionary measures.
Most public spaces have too many precautionary measures to be followed. Some of these measures are not well conversant to people and their children. In this case, therefore, few people understand the measures and can follow them accordingly. Those who don’t understand the rules and regulations fail to meet them nd hence may be found guilty of breaking the rules. This has, therefore, influence the use of public spaces. Most parents don’t take their children to he public spaces due to the fear of being judged in case their children fail to meet the set standards and breaking the set rules and regulations for the public space. It’s due to this then that the visit to public spaces has faced reluctance and it’s falling down bit by bit.
Why are the Chinese and Foreigner most valuable?
It’s a belief that most people feel shy to attend public spaces irrespective of the high demand for public spaces. But having in mind that most of the people who are vulnerable to visit public places are mostly Chinese and Foreigner, there comes a reason to inquire why there is such a tendency. Could there be any reason for the trend? Yes, there is a reason for this. And there is a way to do with the issue.
Firstly, the reason for the difference comes from racial discriminations. Bearing in mind that foreigners come from different races, they ought to have a feeling of separation. They feel different from the rest. They feel new and hence may not be able to access public spaces. These children cannot be able to attend the entertainment as their parents have a feeling of being mistreated in the population. Mostly, Chinese are Seen as the main cause of bad luck. This is traced from back in 1870 during the breakout of smallpox. Its origin was traced to China. It’s from this pandemic that the Chinese faced rejection from all over the world. This is why up to date, there is that difference and stigmatization of the Chinese race. Therefore, it’s very difficult to engage the Chinese population in the public space. They always feel neglected and irrelevant in the population. There influence in society is low and irrelevant as they are not accepted in society. It’s from this point of view that Chinese children cannot be put into account when developing entertainment in children. They are neglected in such.
Also, it’s hard for foreigners to be involved in public place activity. They have little or no influence in the general working of the public spaces. Understanding that there is little consideration of foreigners in the implementation of development goals, there is little influence that they can add to the development and activity of public space. From this point of view, there is little influence as well as the commitment of foreigners on public space growth and development.
Also, having the idea that Foreigner is visitors, they have no power in changing the plan of foreign land. It’s therefore difficult for them to change the national program. Having little understanding of the national plans and way of doing things, they are not in the position of influencing their program (Mahorzato .K, 2015: ). The children, therefore, have some sort of laxity in visiting these public space and may not visit at all. They feel shy and neglected and hence may not have any strength to visit the places. These children are not able to pay for some of the needed expenses and hence there is limited access to the spaces. Even if these children pay for the needs, they may be mistreated from the grounds of racism. This is witnessed by the word, African Americans are forever foreigners. This shows that even if these people are accepted to live in America, they are categorized as foreigners and hence have no impact on the economic plans. This has adversely influenced their activity in public space. It’s therefore very important to lie down better standards and come up with better ways of improving children entertainment places.
Improving the functionality of children in entertainment places.
Children are the most important sector of a population and it’s through them that the economy can either grow or fall. Through enlightening the children, there is a great chance of improving the whole public. Children entertainment places are therefore one of the main areas that need to be of focus when dealing with the development of public spaces. If children are not taken into account and be addressed in some of the problems facing the public space, then there is no improvement in the activity of public space. But how can all this be achieved? It’s a difficult task to perform but with all in the plan, it won’t take a lot. Commitment is all that is needed to achieve the best. Understanding that parents have the best knowledge of their children, they are in the position of giving the right direction to their children and can change their belief. It’s therefore through the elderly that the entertainment places for children can be improved.
- a) Educate the General Public.
The government should take the task of educating the general public on the importance of children’s entertainment places. This will ensure that all parents and guardians understand the need for taking their children for entertainment places. Also, the parents would be in the position of guiding their children on the measures to be undertaken when they visit the entertainment places. By so doing, the parents will always be in a position to visit the places with no doubt on the behavioural problems caused by the entertainment places. Also, there should be a guide issued to the parents to help them monitor the life of their children following exposure to entertainment places. This will help parents understand the influence of the entertainment places in the life of their children. And hence they will be able to judge the effects of the exposure. This will greatly help in managing the different behavioural changes in children and help in coming up with better measures to guide the growth and development of positive behaviour among the children. (Antonova E, Egrunt, Menekova 2014)
Also, the general public should be educated on the problems posed by racism and tribalism. This would help in the fight against the evil brought by these differences. It will help parents to feel free letting their children go to entertainment places. This guarantees safety. It also helps children to develop oneness and have unity. By so doing, children can work and play together at ease. There will be Harmony in the society and hence better living and interaction in the community.
- b) Having teachers to guide children in the entertainment.
Having a leader in entertainment places is crucial. These teachers will be responsible for guiding the behaviour of the children as well as showing them how to use some of the entertainment resources. By having a teacher around, there is an easy way of monitoring the life of children as well as having the best understanding of the impacts of the entertainment places on the life of the children. Also, these teachers are liable for any damage that is caused to children during the time of entertainment and they will be able to attend to children before they reach their parents. This is one of the most important needs of a child’s entertainment.
Also, teachers can understand different abilities from children and they can know which entertainment tools fit which child. This, therefore, help in ensuring that all children get the best entertainment tool that fit their abilities and needs. This will ensure that there is no wastage of resources in purchasing tools that are irrelevant to children. Lastly, teachers will be in a position to divide children according to their age and abilities to share different entertainment tools. This ensures that there is no misuse of the tools. In so doing, there is little loss of resources in entertainment places. It also helps to ensure that the purchased tools meet the children’s needs.
- c) Proper entertainment tools.
Children’s entertainment would mean nothing if there are no proper entertainment tools. These entertainment tools are what gets the child’s attention toto visiting entertainment places. Hence, there should be better tools to attract more children. Children are always attracted to shouting colours. The more bright the tool the more the child finds it nice for them. Also, glittery tools should always be used in the places. This ensures that more children are attracted to the entertainment places. It’s therefore important to understand the child’s preference before purchasing the tools. Having better entertainment tool for a given child’s age would be a better move in the growth and development of the child’s entertainment. Every child should access a tool of his/her choice and the tools should be enough for all the children ( Edwards P, 2008). By so doing, all children will be able to get the entertainment they need to the full.
- d) Proper location of entertainment places.
Entertainment places should be allocated in a strategic position that is accessible to all members of the public. This helps parents to easily drop and pick their children. Also, the location of the entertainment places should be secure. Security if the children is always one of the main concern of parents and hence this should be the first consideration when setting up an entertainment place. Also, there should be better monitoring of children security within the entertainment place. This will ensure that the there is no kidnaping of children in the place of entertainment. Also, there should be better attendants to the children (Geneva, 1998). First aid measures in case of injuries should be readily available. In such a case, parents will feel comfortable sending their children for entertainment as they are assured of safety of their children always.
- e) Early Access to entertainment places.
Access to entertainment places help one to develop early social skills. This help children to have the best social skill. From this, children can stay with fellow children for a whole day without boredom. To his helps in ensuring that children stay together for longer hours and feel comfortable all through (Shaina K. 2013). Parents should be encouraged to take their children to these entertainment places earlier to ensure that they access these entertainment as early as possible and be able to mingle with others children at younger age and be able to have an exposure at younger age. This will help them to live with others better in older age.
- f) Unity and Oneness in leadership.
The process of improving the activity children entertainment places is one of the hardest thing in the activating public space. Bringing all the needed requirements into one line and making them run well is the biggest task to be performed. There is therefore need to commit the whole public and human kind to ensure that all the required means are met and low chances of making errors are met. By so doing, there is better achievements to me reached (Nowark. S, 2016). The social stratification among the members of the public should be one of the key steps to reach better improvements of public space. By accepting oneness and unity, all the laid down plans to achieving better public space will be reached. And the improvements on children entertainment space will be reached easily. Understanding the impacts of children in the society is the key in making better plans for public space and all will start from improving children’s entertainment places as active nation lies on children.
