Networking is using the relevant contacts within a particular professional field intending to achieve personal career targets, simply put it creates an amicable environment in a particular profession to keep your employment ambition alive. In recognizance of the aforementioned, I developed immense knowledge and skills during the networking night, just but to mention personal grooming dictates the value and seriousness attributed to a job seeker and lasting impression to the employer vis-à-vis personal confidence as a job seeker.

In my interaction with the panel and or the career professionals in attendance, I learned that to impress the employer. The candidate must categorically in his opening statement during the interview session, demonstrate in the simplest possible terms, the purpose of his application to a specific company. Therefore, demonstration of an in-depth understanding of the company mandates, mission and vision and align the same to your skills is not only advisable but a must.  The clear and precise articulation of your skills and how you will use them to the benefit of the company is what attracts an employer.

The body language and facial expression determine a candidate’s attitude and character. In essence, the employer’s keenness on how you react to a particular question segment substantiates the candidate’s suitability. Therefore, your engagement with the panel of interviewers should be lively and demonstration of eagerness to learn should be captured by asking positive questions that fit within the company mission and vision. In conformity with the above guidelines, the candidates create a reasonable pitch that not only sets him apart from other cliques of candidates but increases his/her employability credentials.

In pursuit of excellence and gaining experience, that set you above average from other candidates, the networking night encouraged me as an employment seeker to apply for other jobs that don’t fit my credentials. With such information on your resume, it demonstrates to the employer the flexibility of the candidate and the ability to adapt and learn in a different work environment. The ability to adapt and learn is adored and valued among employers. such an opportunity acts as a stepping stone towards career development and therefore entry-level job seekers are highly encouraged to start from any low-level job on offer. Through networking with colleagues in the organization, I will end up in the department where my expertise with be much valued.

In this regard, networking is a powerful tool that enables job seekers within a particular field to positively interrelate with relevant employers. Such a symbiotic relationship enables job seekers to know of the availability of particular job offers on the market, albeit to state the employers get to choose from a variety of able, competent workforce that fits within the company profile.
