Thus, they play a crucial role in ensuring that the operations of the company run efficiently. Accounting entails numerous computations and analysis. Therefore an individual requires a high level of intelligence to be competent enough in the profession.
An accountant needs to have a high level of analytic intelligence because it helps them in effective strategizing, use of logic, and information processing. Notably, an accountant should use logic to know how to handle each financial concept effectively and process the information efficiently. Accountants should also remember concepts, think efficiently. Then, creative intelligence helps the accountant to appreciate unanticipated occurrences because, during the preparation of accounting records, there could be a material error that was not anticipated. Furthermore, an accountant uses practical intelligence in various ways. For instance, to assess and understand real-life issues like why machinery depreciates while land appreciates. There are various standards that an accountant should adhere to when reporting. Thus, they need to apply skills and knowledge when deriving reports.
The intelligence type which is most influential to me is analytic intelligence. I am always well focused on details, and my verbal skills are very articulate. Additionally, I recall information very quickly and find ease in understanding concepts. I like analyzing every situation in detail, an aspect which helps me to make the right choices in most instances. Moreover, I am good at strategizing, and conceptual planning, which makes me a good leader, for instance, during team works, I always guide my group members accordingly to achieve our set objectives.
