Ideal Society
The modern world is a complicated place and the standards of today’s society make it difficult for people to live and act. I wonder what the world would be if there are equity and equality in all aspects of life. However, for this to happen, men and women should start building a new society, which is free from social injustices and one which guarantees full rights to every individual (Bergman, 2017). People are mesmerized by the present sense of the community and management of operational needs, and the working of the operating systems of the governing bodies have disillusioned them. Since the time immemorial, society has been judgmental in one way or the other, thus elevating racism, classicism and sexism. An ideal society or a utopian society would involve people coming together and agreeing on common goals, but it cannot be achieved without people correcting their thoughts and perceptions.
An ideal society is the one in there is perfection in all aspects of life. It is hard for this perfection to be achieved because for an ideal society to exist, everybody needs to be satisfied, something which is difficult to happen because all people are not the same. According to Atwood (2006), ideal society calls for people to live without the fear of being judged for their actions. This means that people should be free to act on their own will without being criticized for what they do. We live in a society that makes people but not one that has been made by people. It means that the complication of the community has altered the way people think and act, and it will take a long time to correct this paradox (Bergman, 2017). Hypocrisy is the order of the day, and ulterior motives drive people, thus any dreams to achieve an ideal society is turning to be an elusive mirage.
Social justice and equity in resource allocation is a dream in the modern world. Those who have been given the mandate to allocate resources to people are driven by greed, hence they do not make rational decisions (Bergman, 2017). They satisfy themselves first before satisfying others. In an ideal society, social justice is not a favour but a virtue. Every member of the society, regardless of their social class and gender, has equal rights in all aspects of life. Without justice, there is no freedom, yet it is considered as one of the greatest human values. Justice is a key in an ideal society because it ensures that people do not rebel in the society and it creates a peaceful nation that is free from factions and crisis, as advised by Bergman (2017). An ideal society cannot be achieved because people are not ready to adopt the utopian lifestyles.
Finally, a society is a product of the seeds that make it, and if the seeds are sick, the resulting society will be more suffering. The first step to achieve an ideal society is to change our personalized thinking and develop concern towards others. We live with questions about the future and how we can make it bright, but we lack the means to reach there. By developing a utopian vision, human beings can conquer diseases and build communities of faithful. An ideal society is the one in which everybody gets what they want. This might be hard to realize, but every milestone of civilization took some time, with many still regarding it as a utopian fantasy. The pejorative sense of people towards life is a scarecrow to the achievement of an ideal society.
