His wife was known as Jessie Johnson and they were blessed with six children Johnson, Kirke, Harvey Jr. William, and Catherine. Harvey was specialized in utilities, railroad, and radio executive. He is believed to be the father of electricity and telephone lines in the Arkansas States, the United States. Apart from his career, Crowley was also interested in politics and he was a member of the Democrat Party. He later died in July 1941 at the age of 63.

Significance works and the impact on Arkansas and Louisiana

After working in Arkansas Railway Post Office, Harvey gathered the experience of developing long-distance telephone lines. He formed his first company at Bienville postmaster in Louisiana. His first company completed constructing more than fifteen miles of the telephone lines in Arcadia, Louisiana (“Couch, Harvey Crowley.”, 1). In 1908, Harvey together with his friend Dr. Longino formed another company called North Louisiana Telephone Company. The company helped in the construction of more than 1500 miles of telephone lines which they exchanged with the four states. They later sold the company and Harvey decided to specialize with the electric power. As a result of this, he helped in the construction of the two dams, of Remmel and Carpenter Dam in 1924 and 1933 respectively. His successful electric works in Arkansas State are still remembered up to date.
