It has valuable resources like human resources, financial resources and operational resources. Other features are good doctor-patient relationship, organised R&D department in 2019; the net profit was A$550 million.

I have chosen Haiti and Israel as potential nations for business expansion. Haiti is a poor nation and healthcare sector is less developed. After the COVID-19 pandemic, economy has downgraded. Political corruption is high and a huge status gap exists between upper, middle and lower classes.

I have considered Israel because its economic situation is better. Economic growth is rapid and the nation is renowned for its advancements in the healthcare sector. Medical laboratories offering similar services like Sonic Healthcare is also established and therefore, competition is high. Israeli government is serious about transforming healthcare and bringing a medical revolution.

Risk assessment
After analysing the facts, it is clear that risks of doing business in Haiti are more. It is a politically unstable nation and economic fluctuations are high. Property registration process is not clear. Contrarily, the political, currency, economic and property risks are low in Israel. It is now known as a “Start-up Nation”. The currency has strengthened over time.

I have analysed various entry strategies in foreign nations such as direct export, indirect export, and foreign production and so on. It would be profitable for Sonic Healthcare to adopt the strategy of foreign production. Israel’s laboratory market is open and can provide profitable business opportunities.
