The following paper covers the involvement and engagement of China in the East- African country of Ethiopia.
The goal of this study is to inspect whether China’s influence has provided Ethiopia with the tools and the economic might result in becoming a developed country.
While this paper focuses on Ethiopia, the methods used to undertake this evaluation can apply to other East-African economies.
With the help of the Chinese FDI evolution over the last years in Ethiopia, China’s approach and engagement become clearer.
Not only investments in essential sectors and areas depicted in numbers lead to im- provements also, case studies, such as surveys of Ethiopian inhabitants concerning China’s economic and social influence, will be used.
Correspondingly, Ethiopia’s perception regarding China’s engagement will be mea- sured.
The paper structure consists of a hypothesis and research methods wherein Chinese involvement is being specified and correspondingly measured.
In the chapter of results, different viewpoints will be evaluated, and a targeted overview displayed.
Besides, a literature review focusing on China, Ethiopia, and the Western world will be used to compare different perspectives related to the main topic of this paper,i.e., consequent of China’s influence in Ethiopia.
