Enterprise Resource Plan
Executive summary
Enterprise resource plan refers to software that industries use to integrate and accomplish the essential areas in a business. The managers of the Delaware Emergency Management Agency (DEMA) should, therefore, put efforts into fighting the shortage of the PPEs by using this software. When there is enough cooperation between this parties, they will make sure the cost of this items is not too high to make sure everybody has the capability of purchasing them, there is enough supply of the resources depending on the demand and that the PPEs will be delivered to every region of the state including those in local settings. The managers using the plan should put more effort into the most affected areas of the nation. The public should be asked about its views about the Enterprise resource plan so that the managers can buy the ideas that seem to save people’s lives from the pandemic. Ignorance of people using the PPEs is a problem making the spread of the coronavirus increase rapidly, and this would be a problem in the future if the pandemic is faced. Locking people down is an opportunity to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus.
Introduction
An Enterprise resource plan is a software that a company creates to manage system functions to lead to its success in its daily activities. The world is now facing a disaster due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic. There has been a shortage of personal protective equipment (PPEs), and thus there is a need to come up with an enterprise resource plan that will help reduce the deficit of these tools in case the nation faces such mass casualties. The managers of the Delaware Emergency Management Agency (DEMA) should, therefore, put efforts into fighting the shortage of the PPEs by using this software. With more of this protective item such as surgical masks, hair bouffant, paper scrubs, goggles, waterproof gowns, N95masks and gloves provided by DEMA in case of a pandemic like the Covid- 19, there will be few deaths and the lives of people will not be in much danger as it is today with less supply of the PPEs (Hick & Biddinger, 2020). The ERP software will be essential because it will have made work more comfortable for the company. It will adjust the cost, allocation of the PPEs, supplies, and deliveries since it connects various departments of the company, and the company will work in harmony. Therefore the manager should make sure it is used to ensure there will be no shortage of equipment.
Description of the Planning Area
To make sure that PPEs don’t disappoint in the future, the managers should make sure that there is enough cooperation in the financial department, supply, and delivery departments so that the shortage of the personal protective equipment cannot occur again as they are entitled to use the same software which is connected to each department. When there is enough cooperation between this parties, they will make sure the cost of this items is not too high so that, everybody has the capability of purchasing them, there is enough supply of the resources depending on the demand and that the PPEs will be delivered to every region of the state including those in local settings.
The managers should also make sure they give PPEs that give total protection to the residents of the regions and the states. For instance, they should inspect all this equipment before distributing it to its citizens (Koonin, 2020). When the items are of low quality, they may not serve the purpose they are made for. For example, if the masks or gloves have holes, they will allow the virus’s penetration to the citizens’ skin and not protect them from Coronavirus.
The managers using the plan should put more effort into the most affected areas of the nation. This will enable them to save many citizens’ lives as the PPEs will be sold to them at a cheaper cost, and those without the capability to purchase the company can donate to them. Again they will be monitored from time to time to time by totally locking them down to prevent the spread to other areas without the disease (Sutduean et al. 2019). Local people, people in the state and the federal should be talked to adhere to the terms and conditions provided by the company so that they don’t overexpose their lives danger
DEMA managers should also work hand in hand with the government to succeed in their plan. The government has its own rules for preventing the spread of Coronavirus. Therefore, the managers should make sure their human resource is also following these measures as they are also helpful, and they will reduce the spread of this virus. They should also consult with the local authorities team on how they are trying to curb the spread of this virus so that if it is not in line with their agendas, they can include it to save the lives of many people who would be lost the coronavirus pandemic.
Public Participation
The public should be asked about its views about the Enterprise resource plan so that the managers can buy the ideas which seem to save the lives of people from the pandemic. The local authorities and various team leaders in the society should be given their views on this plan and how it would help them at the personal and community levels. The manager should also request the public to participate in various activities of improving this plan as it will help them most. For instance, the team leaders of multiple organizations assist in educating the other members on the usage of the PPEs and how effective they would be in saving their lives.
Problems, Opportunities, and Objectives
Ignorance of people to use the PPEs is a problem that is making the spread of coronavirus increase rapidly, and this would be a problem in the future if the pandemic is faced. People may term the masks, gloves, and the other protective equipment disturbing them, so they may decide not to use them, so the spread becomes high (Koonin, 2020). Simultaneously, social distancing to prevent conduct between infected people and a healthy person is another neglected aspect causing the high spread of the virus.
Locking people down is an opportunity to reduce the spread of Coronavirus. This is because there is less movement from one place to another, so people do not interrupt most cases. The stakeholders of DEMA are aiming at reducing the spread of Coronavirus, for it is causing many deaths in the nation and the federal states.
Scope of the Plan
The scope of this plan aims at investigating the personal protective equipment that DEMA can provide to reduce the deaths and challenges people are facing due to coronavirus pandemic. The managers are willing to increase the supplies and the equipment’s deliveries, reduce their costs, and allocate the resources to many people in society. Since many people are not following the measures of using protective equipment, soldiers should be given the task of arresting those who do not adhere to these rules to reduce the spread of the pandemic (Hick & Biddinger, 2020). Again signs to show the 1.5-meter distance to be marked in public areas so that people can reduce their conduct to minimize the spread of COVID-19.
Comparison of Alternatives
Marking a 1.5M distance in public places would be a more useful measure to follow to reduce Coronavirus’s spread. When the police are to arrest people without the personal protective equipment, they may come into conduct with an infected person and thus get contaminated or infected police may infect a healthy person. When many people are arrested and put in the same hole, and one of them is infected with the virus, they may affect the whole lot. Thus capturing people would not be an appropriate idea to follow.
Recommended Alternative
Marking 1.5M distance in public places would be essential since it would help people keep the desired length. There will be a reduced spread of the virus since people will have minimal conduct.
Implementation
A colored mark should be put in malls, supermarkets, and churches showing where the next person should stand or sit to reduce close conduct. Everybody should also have their PPEs to minimize the handling of infected persons.
Local and Federal Response to Current Pandemic
Local and federal response agency is a unit that gives immediate attendance to people when crisis or disasters occur. FEMA was, therefore, created to be the leading agency of dealing with emergencies and the Act allocated several programmatic, planning, coordination, and reporting responsibilities which included the following: coming up with yearly drivers budgets and assessments, make sure the unit was composed of essential procedures to encourage and apply global pandemic discount procedures by the State, Federal and Local Governments, the nation ideals, engineers and architects and a part in scheduling and construction of buildings. FEMA also created a written plan for the exercise and incorporated particular tasks and signs for each partner agency that would be renewed after three years. It would also create a report that explains the program’s activities on dealing with COVID- 19 and the effectiveness of the measures taken. FEMA would also ask for the Federal agencies’ help apart from its partners to help achieve the program’s positive outcomes.
Federal Response during Covid-19 Pandemic
The worldwide pandemic of Coronavirus has led to the exhaustion of personal protective equipment since there is a high demand for these products with less supply. Therefore, the need to increase the production of these products in the future arose, and thus an enterprise resource plan is to be put in place to solve the existing challenge. The federal agencies are in the infrastructure sector and are highly consulted during any decision-making process of allocating supplies of resources. They also have the responsibility of ensuring the personal gears provided are of high quality to reduce the spread of Coronavirus. The agencies also have the mandate to distribute the PPEs to the nation’s profoundly affected areas and donate to those who cannot afford them.
