Broken Education System of America Documentary

The documentary tries to reveal buried intellectualism. It intends to show the dissimilarities existing between academic intelligence within the society and street smarts of the current day students. The documentary reveals that many students are acquiring education online at the expense of going to the traditional college system. According to the documentary, they are a couple of people using education as an opportunity to enrich them instead of promoting reliable passive knowledge to students. Several colleges are collaborating with publishers to sell books to students instead of providing them as free resources for enriching education. The documentary points out how society has intelligent peoples who not necessarily owning college degrees and who only require little knowledge to plug the intellectualism needed in the industrial sector. The documentary shows that buried intellectualism bears the dispatch that street intellects are actually intellectual potential. Many people assume that something that isn’t broken should not be fixed, however as humans grow and evolve, we tend to improve things around us. This is to argue that education is one thing that should not be taken out of this equation. If we were to allow students to use their interests to help them become better then we may be helping a child become the best version of what he wants to be. All the speakers in the documentary argue that the students would be ready to consume intellectual identities when encourages through the provision of relevant platforms on areas of personal interests rather than selfish approaches by American citizens. The speakers feel that the students should be charged with the responsibility to cater to education loans and thus the citizen should not be left with this burden. This is because there have been instances of students using education funds for non-educational expenses. This has led to many students being less serious about education and feel like it a system passage in life. The government should for that reason leave education loaning to private sectors according to speakers to avoid collapsing of colleges.

“Education is the key to success in life, and teachers make a lasting impact in the lives of their students.” The famous quote by Solomon Ortiz to insist on the need for education for all. Valuable education equips learners not only with academic knowledge but also gives them skills to handle life’s critical issues for a better future. All the world’s countries have put in place education systems to help attain suitable education for their citizens. The education systems incorporate formal, non-formal, and informal education to provide diverse knowledge to learners in those countries. Every country has its education system, which is often not different from other countries, but some education systems are more advanced than others are depending on the state in reference. It would be biased to categorize the education system in some countries as good or bad as each country creates an education system that favors her citizens. Comparing the education system in America to other countries’ education systems, while using the Utilitarianism theory, I would argue that the American education system is profound and advanced. However, there are weaknesses in it that it needs to borrow from other countries with an improved education system to amend its policy. For instance, the American education system focuses primarily focused on preparing learners for jobs. The idea of studying to acquire knowledge is foreign to students, as most of the study is for future employment. The American education system does not equip learners with the skills for learning because they enjoy acquiring knowledge. Moreover, the American education system does not give students enough knowledge on how to be creative and innovative thinkers. Innovation in America is promoted by private schools, which are too expensive for some families to afford school fees. Students in public schools suffer a significant disadvantage, and hence the system ends up being biased.
