Global governance involved in transnational, international, and regional levels and refers to activities in both the private and public sectors. Chinas developments have great implications for how the world is governed. As its political ambitions and its economy continues to expand, its influence around the world also seems to be great. Chinese views on global governance.

The Chinese scholars have greatly started to debate on global governance since it has come to be widely used. First, the analysts have agreed that most problems affecting the world today which include environmental degradation, financial crisis, and transnational crimes are global in scale and have affected nations with sociopolitical ideologies and policies. They also tend to believe that technological improvements in communication have improved and made global governance possible. Second, the analysts have agreed and believed to the idea that the government should also be carried out by non-state actors rather than the government only (Summers, 2016). Non-state actors which include, multinational cooperations and nongovernmental organizations. They should work together towards solving the world’s pressing problems. Finally, they have come to recognize and approved the global governance shared values such as democracy, rule of law, and human rights which tend to be commonly encouraged by the global civil society, major international organizations, and particularly the western government.

However, some Chinese analysts have a negative attitude toward the feasibility and desirability of global governance. These analysts argue that sovereign states with their national interests are the most important actors on the world state. They also believe that the interest of great powers has continued to dominate the world’s politics and object to the fact that governance is inherently democratic. Consequently, they believe only the state-oriented should conduct global governance and their attention greatly focuses on international organizations. International organizations were not regarded as partners by the Chinese government rather they used them as modernization and reforms, for example, it was involved in received and sought financial aids from the world bank and the international monetary fund. However, for china to make effective contributions to the world, they should work with the UN and other international organizations. Additionally, some Chinese analysts fail to understand the principles of good governance such as human rights, democracy, market competition, transparency rule of laws, and accountability prescribed by the dominated international organizations. They urge that the current international order contains major problems and therefore advocates for reform to achieve a harmonious world that mainly is involved with major principles, that is the democratization of international relations, justice, and common prosperity, tolerance and diversity, and peaceful resolutions of conflicts internationally.

China’s role in global governance.

China has made great efforts recently to join the world by expanding its membership in transnational and international organizations. Research has shown that the People’s Republic expanded their membership in transnational organizations from seventy-two to one thousand and seventy-nine,  moreover they have gained membership in twenty international organizations. Discussions from the recent policy initiatives confirmed that china did not aspire to create alternative global governance and some analysts believed that China is not strong enough in challenging the existing international order.

Additionally, China has a great role in reshaping global finance since it has the world’s fastest-growing economy. The Chinese intergovernmental loans have greatly increased together with its foreign aid. The developments have positively influenced china’s potential influence in the international financial system. Based on opportunities and expectations from the new self-confidence, the Chinese government has carefully and gradually increased its voice as a reformer based on the international financial system. (Hameiri&jones,2018)

Conclusion

In conclusion, China has developed a great desire for its role in global governance. National sentiments have been on the rise at the popular level in the last decade. Its urged that the country should stand to the right and claim its place as a global power. Analysts support china’s involvement in global governance for various reasonable reasons beyond national pride. Firstly, the issue of the harmonious world as responses to its growing threats. Secondly, most analysts view its involvement as instrumental to support CCP’s legitimacy and Finally, the distinction between domestic and international politics tends to be blurred by global governance.
