Beethoven violin romance two and Scott Joplin’s Maple Rag extremely contrast each other. Beethoven’s romance 2 is composed for the violin and orchestra (Chimchirian, 2016). This piece has a slow tempo which evokes a passionate and sentimental mood. The romance is an interwoven conversation between the soloist and the orchestra. Beethoven’s music uses modulation, texture, and characterization of emotions which makes the music interesting (Chimchirian, 2016). When playing the song Beethoven changes the keys from major to minor. The Maple leaf rag is a musical composition composed for the piano. This piece has athletic bass lines and offbeat melodies (Stephens, 2017). Ragtime maple leaf does not change keys while being played. This piece has a quick tempo. It has a non-stop rhythmic conversation between the two hands of the piano player (Stephens, 2017).
A hero is a person who has great abilities and characteristics that people admire and desire to possess. Heroic actions are expressed through the challenges that a hero faces both internally and externally and how he overcomes the challenges (Shang, 2018). Harry porter displays his heroism by overcoming obstacles, making tough decisions, and showing bravery. He makes difficult decisions that endanger his life. Harry porter had humble beginnings and a tough time when growing up. This made him develop self-doubt and fear but this did not deter him from being a hero. His acts of heroism were therefore not for fame or honor but were for the sake of goodwill.
Modern heroes unlike classical heroes lack supernatural powers but they rise above their desires to accomplish great things (Shang, 2018). Modern heroes live in an ordinary world with limitations to what they can achieve and what they can conquer. A modern hero displays heroism to help. A modern hero also faces challenges like the classical hero. A modern hero makes decisions that affect and alter the lives of people (Shang, 2018). A modern hero does not have to overcome the challenges but what he does while trying to overcome these challenges has a great impact on people’s lives.
