Part One
The Old Guitarist painting done by Pablo Picasso is an everyday life subject about the poor’s miseries. The subject is about an older man who lived in poverty playing guitar. The subject is a sad one since the older man playing the guitar was blind. This type of sad subject typically displayed during a period in his life called the Blue Period. Picasso made use of blue in his paintings as a way of communicating pain and desolation. Another example similar to the Blue Period subject was Woman ironing. The painting showed destitute subjects performing mundane tasks. Picasso’s aim of the painting was to reveal how there was the maltreatment of the working-class people at the time of the industrial revolution.
Part Two
Pablo Picasso was born in October 1881 at Malaga in Spain. He was a Spanish painter, printmaker, theatre designer, sculptor, and ceramics who made lived most of his adult life in France. He received formal artistic training from his father in figure drawing and oil painting. In 1892 his family moved to La Coruna. A year later, Picasso joined a school and studied Fine and Applied Arts from there. In 1901, when Picasso was now 19, he was working in a group of radical artists, anarchists, and writers who usually met in between Barcelona, which was his home town and tripped to Paris. His closest friend was the Spanish poet Carles Casagemas. Unfortunately, dint last long as Casagemas shot himself during a dinner party in Paris that year after being rejected by a lover. Picasso is regarded as the most influential artist of the 20th century known for co-founding the Cubist movement, the co-invention of collage, the invention of constructed sculpture, and the wide variety of styles that helped develop and explore.
