GENDER AND GENDER ISSUES
The source has focused on social media as one of the factors contributing to gender issues. Facebook has been explained as the most significant social platform which is dominated by both men and women. The research completed by the Briansolis.com indicated that in site with approximately 400 million individuals on 57% of them are females, also, on a monthly basis the social site attracts around 46 million female which is a higher number compared to men who join the platform within the same deadline (Forbes.com. 2018). The researched provides that the social world is currently led by women (Hellinger & Motschenbacher, 2015).
The lesson learned in such research provides that gender participation is changing in the world. Women are now taking parts in different sectors including social media platforms. In this case, they are the majority users of the widely considered social networking platforms such as the Twitter, Myspace, and Facebook. They are also the most active participants in other active sites such as Digg, LinkedIn and YouTube. In the case of Facebook, women use the platform not only for social gains but also for promotion activities especially when reaching out new buyers or clients.
The knowledge concerning the participation of women has changed especially in the case of application of the social platforms, in that, women apply the social medial differently as compared to men (Peterson & Runyan 2009). For example, women consider social sites as a platform to share much information while connecting with many friends, on the other side, men use it a point of gathering information and growing their status level. Therefore, women are motivated to use social sites as a way to connect, but for men, it is a source of information. Some of the interesting content accessed by women include the record of people who experience similar conflicts or challenges. The information is related to real life issues such as marriage and pregnancy lessons (Coates, 2015). On the other side, Lorrie Thomas, the professor of social media marketing identified that men use social sites as a platform to store experiences for future use. For men, according to, Bowen, social platforms are the channels that give men are a way to get correct information to increase their influence (Un.org. 2018).

Mark Brown focuses on specific aspects concerning gender issues. In the article, Brown presents the concept of “legislating untruths” especially when attempting to provide equality among the transgender and intersex community. However, the source supports the truth in the aspects of gender identity since it defines the position of people in the different setup. Gender identity is essential as just a feeling or a whim can not describe it since it cannot change with therapy. The interesting point is when the author provides that it is traumatic for a person to be associated with a wrong identity.
Some myths are identifying a particular gender with the crimes and not the perpetrators. In the UK, the research was done indicating that about one-third of the transgender people were victims of hate criminal issues in 2017. At some point, the research identified that many gender diverse and transgender young individuals are victims of verbal or physical abuse due to the gender identity aspects. Such activities increase the chance of depressions, anxiety and suicidal case among the affected groups (Meijers, 2018).
The source presents some groups in the community that want the law to be changed to assist the transgender individuals and gender diverse individuals. Another concept that requires support is concerning the intersex children who should not be forced to undergo surgery if possible. The government should remove the law that forces the transgender groups to undertake divorce before updating their birth certificates.
