Black art and the Feminists Movement

I am focused on analyzing the black art movement and the feminist art movement. The movement was prominent in the 1970s and resulted in the production of some radical art and drama and poetry. Many artists who took part in the movement were known to advocate for the general black identity and their rights. It is worth noting that the movement come at a time when there was a predominant fight for the rights of the black people that included the civil rights movement. My literature research work will thus be primarily focused on drawing of major comparisons that existed between the feminist and the art movements. Major similarities and major differences will be drawn concerning these two movements. The submissions which are made in this research work will be primarily dependent on various available documentaries that will help in the provision of real-life experiences concerning the main aims and the general achievements of the two movements. These two movements primarily advocated for the rights of the black people at the time when racial discrimination and slavery was still a predominant thing in the USA. There exist several similarities between the black art movement and the feminist movement, and this can be characterized by the goals of the movement, their features together with the strategies utilized by the two specific movements.

In drawing a comparison of the two movements, analysis is further conducted through the use of documentaries that also plays a very significant role in terms of providing a mix of real-time experiences and realities about the topic of discussion, as stated in the research study. The above historical investigation has thus wised tremendous transformation and has clearly stated as one of the leading groups that motivated the civil rights movements that were witnessed during these periods. Through the engagement of real-time creation such as movies, various viewers are able to draw really time facts about the black art movements, and its comparison to the feminists’ movement witnessed in the 1970s. The main ideas have been presented through the use of a website that will play an essential role in ensuring the availability of the movies and any other research material which correlates to the black art movement and the feminist movement. The primary argument in these research study is that there exists notable similarities between the black art movement and the feminists’ movements of the 1970s.

The Black art movements compares effectively to the feminists movement witnessed during 1970s.  Similarities between the movements can be seen in their aims and agendas. Both movements aimed at fighting for the rights of African American against which mistreatment. The fight for the rights of women was also seen a s a main focus points in both movements. These two movements thus primarily comprised of the Africa Americans who were dissatisfied with the treatments and discrimination by the whites which was very dominant at the time. It can thus be generally noted that these two movements were primarily responses to turbulent economic times that significantly affected people with color and was mainly attributed to police brutality and segregation for the black Americans.

These two movements were also led and characterized by high dedicated leaders who were very vicious in championing for the rights of black Americans. The black art movement was led by Amiri Baraka, who began his career as the beat nation having associated with many great poets such as Charles Olson and Allen Gilsberg. These figures played a critical role in the provision for inspirations for the black art leaders thus strengthening their quest for the freedom of the blacks. The feminists’ movement was also characterized by predominant feminist figures who played a guiding role for the movements and would therefore inspire theme movements in attaining there goals. A closer analysis of the two movements reveals that both movements primarily use art including poetry music and other form of art as one of their main tools in pushing for the agenda. Art acted as the main medium in which the two groups displayed their main ideas and agendas in relation to their quests for the rights of women and the discriminated in the society.

From the above analysis, it is very clear that the two movements played a significant role in championing for the oppressed at the time. As clearly analyzed these two movements compare quite effectively and major similarities and difference were drawn from the movements. I feel that the use of videos played a significant role in the research work in drawing real time experiences for the research study and the identification to the aims of the two movements were clearly noted. There were major similarities and major differences which were drawn from the analysis of the two movements and how they specifically impacted on the African American and the quest during 1970s.
