The most important thing in life is the freedom of the mind. In the article Freedom is Worth the Risk, the writer talks about whether it is worth taking the shot on pursuing freedom! As time goes by, changes are inevitable, and according to the author, there is need to act in the best light with the hope that that the light will grow brighter. Having the freedom to think precedes all other types of liberty and all progress. According to the author, mind freedom is high and dangerous at the same time! Given the fact that we are living in a dangerous world, mind freedom becomes dangerous too! To think right, one has to run the risk of thinking wrong. Any evils that spring out of thinking, the remedy is thinking more. Ideally, the minds of people are still suppressed from thinking. With this regard, it is important to query oneself whether is it possible to preserve mind freedom and if possible, what should be done to people who do their best to vandalize this liberty?
The generation today is quite enthusiastic, charming and has a high momentum! Many individuals in this generation fail to visualize and look back! The only thing left for this generation is to think of the present and contribute towards the future as a member of a very peculiar species. Ideally, this is generation lies in the turning point of history, and its actions are bound to affect the present and the future. Thus, there is, therefore, need to preserve freedom as much as possible. When this is done, decency should be promoted. Virtue, in this case, means respecting people, not taking advantage of them and not manipulating and mistreating them for own selfish gains. Though it is impossible to live without hurting others however unintentional it may be, there are limits to consider. In the words of the Scottish scientist J. B. S. Haldane, “people who can make a positive contribution to human progress are few.” Many people find pleasure in creating chaos in other people’s lives. These people should be seized, and judgment passed upon them! The freedom of the mind should maintain with all due respect. It is this freedom that justice prevails, innovation enhanced and lives improved! It is paramount to keep the field clear for the creative intelligence, and this will be only to promote progress in the lives of human beings.
