Statement of Interest
My passion for pursuing Healthcare Management comes from an undying passion for providing the best healthcare services to my patients. Being a dentist has provided me with opportunities to work in clinical settings and assess some of the challenges associated with providing healthcare services. I believe there is an existing gap in providing quality dental services which is a motivating factor I studying Healthcare Management to supplement my Dentistry program.
Healthcare management plays a critical role in the clinical setting. Ensuring effective communication among physicians helps manage some of the existing conditions which patients have. For example, when working with a patient who has diabetes entails working with other physicians to ensure proper blood sugar control and also working with other pharmacists to manage their medication. Therefore, as a dentist, ensuring management of patients’ information is critical to proper treatment.
Also, in Healthcare Management, there is the potential of becoming a leader of this diverse group, and as John Maxwell once said, “The pessimist complains about the wind. The optimist expects it to change. The leader adjusts the sails”(Philosiblog, 2019).It is the helmsman that I want to become by pursuing Healthcare Management. Being a leader requires assertiveness, organisation, creativity, and innovation, which are some of the traits which I possess. Therefore, I am confident that this makes me a capable candidate for a Healthcare Managementprogram. I have a huge passion for helping others and want to achieve these through effective management of patient’s information.
