Maximum security
According to Fennelly 2017, it’s good to have residential and work premises like offices installed with maximum security concepts like cameras, alarms, and CCTV as well as secure doors and windows. Maximum security systems like firewalls are very vulnerable to viruses and worms as well as to hackers who may damage or misuse the systems. In office workers can have peace of mind knowing that people won’t gain access to significant information in their computers and also that the assets are secure. Fennelly outlined the advantages and disadvantages of maximum security concepts, but it’s one’s decision to whether to install and let others know about them or not. This essay discusses people and experts opinions on whether to advertise and let the criminal know the capabilities of maximum security systems they have or not as well as the advantages and disadvantages of each view.
Telling criminals about the capabilities of various protection systems promotes the psychology security of people. Knowing that criminals know about how protection systems installed in our premises makes one fear safer not only physical but also psychological. Maximum security systems have different capabilities which improve peoples sense of security for example cameras take pictures and keep pictures of all people who come and leave the premises which people can use later as evidence in case of a crime. Alarms set on doors and windows alert people when touched while CCTV keeps records both audio and visual of everything going on inside and outside the premises, which is useful to ensure justice. When criminals are aware of these capabilities, they will fear to engage in any illegal behavior like theft. In work, premises bosses will not have to worry about employees punctuality and productivity. The opinion of advertising capabilities of maximum security systems has various advantages like deterring crime and promoting psychological safety of people. The idea scares criminals aware as by the thought of having cameras starring at them and recording all their actions they will not commit any crime. The evidence provided by the security systems can be used to capture criminals and give justice to people by punishing the criminals. The opinion has some limitation like privacy issues, protection to the systems, and don’t stop theft. Advertising capabilities of the psychology of maximum security systems invade people privacy by letting others aware of the arrangements. Aware of the skills, criminals undertake activities to destroy or disable the networks, for example, alarms and cameras. Criminals damage security systems so that they cannot gather details useful as evidence against them. Aware of the capabilities criminals don’t stop engaging in illegal behaviors; thus, the opinion doesn’t prevent theft.
Other experts argue that it is not good to advertise the capabilities of maximum protection systems. The opinion is that the skills of various maximum security concepts should be kept private and secret. Unaware of the presence and capabilities of security systems, criminals will commit crimes, and it will be easy to capture them and provide justice to people. The opinion has many advantages like privacy, protection of the systems, and catching dangerous criminals. Privacy is very important that why this opinion is advantageous. Security systems are very vulnerable that when not advertised, criminals cannot destroy, damage or disable the systems. Firewalls and computers are susceptible to hacking and virus or worms. Thieves can disable alarms or damage cameras, so that police don’t have evidence to use against them. Apart from the advantages, the opinion of advertising security system capabilities has some disadvantages like deterring crime. Since criminals are not aware of security system capabilities, they won’t be scared. Instead, they will engage in illegal behaviors like theft. In work premises, punctuality and productivity issues will be very high since workers will be sure that the bosses will not find out their mistakes.
Fennely (2017) just outlined that security systems should be installed in both residential and work premises but did not say that their capabilities should be advertised for criminals to be aware. My opinion is that though privacy is paramount but physical and psychological safety is essential that why maximum security systems should be promoted to let criminals aware. The above is my opinion because aware of the capabilities criminals will be scared and won’t engage in any illegal businesses. To conclude, its good to install cameras, alarms, firewalls, and CCTV in our premises and also other maximum security systems and let criminals know about their capabilities. By so doing crime rates will be reduced, and psychological and physical safety ensured.
