Thera-Clean
Thera-Clean was founded in 2013 by Dr James Zarowny and Kyle Darling. The two travelled to Japan to see this technology after hearing that it was changing the way Japanese groomers and vets cleaned skin thoroughly. They agreed that pet owners in North America should know this, so they refined the technology (not all microbubbles are created equal), and Thera-Clean Microbubbles was born. Their goal was to let North American pet owners know that there is a better way to have perfect, clean and healthy skin with just water for their pets.
Thera-Clean microbubble technology can deeply cleanse the skin to a level people could not have reached 20 years ago using only water and millions of small ionic bubbles. All the microbes they make are about one third the size of a red blood cell, and there are millions upon millions of them. These special small bubbles carry a specific charge of negative ions, which can enter the follicles of dogs or cats and bind to positively charged organic matter that causes skin problems in the animal (bacteria, dirt, debris yeast, allergens, crude oil). They then lift these materials out of the skin.
A Thera-Clean bath is a much deeper cleaning than conventional bath techniques. Whether there are skin problems or not in a pet, traditional cleaning technique cleans the skin and the coat that is normally on the top. Thera-Clean microbubbles go much further. They have rightly concluded that bacteria at the bottom of the follicle can survive and must disappear before the condition improves. Products with antibacterial properties, such as shampoos and medical conditioners, work, but only reach bacteria on the surface of the follicle.
