SUSTAINABILITY IN HEALTHCARE
Sustainability in health and the healthcare system is a process that is achieved when the care delivered to the public is of high quality and the leads to the improvement of the public health without depleting the available natural resource reserve, and that has no impact on causing environmental damages (Fleiszer et al., 2015). Sustainability, therefore, tries to provide high-quality services while protecting the resource base for future use. It recognizes the fact that contemporary society has problems that must be solved now; however, the future will also have problems that will be solved then. Therefore, in providing the quality services will ensure that the quality in health care is provided while at the same time maintaining the resources for future use by the future generations.
The opportunities that exist in the organization for the dialogue on the sustainable practices include; the reuse and recycling of the resources to preserve and conserve, minimizing the losses that occur from the overutilization of different resources, and the practice of collection of the waste materials in the organizations (Saviano et al., 2018). The main strategies that must be used by the organizations are those strategies that must compensate for the losses when the utilization occurs, the strategies must also be critical in minimization of the impacts, and the avoidance of the activities that may lead to overutilization of the services (Saviano et al., 2018). Therefore, waste management is one of the areas that the organization must focus on if it is to maintain a proper environment and if it is to ensure that the future benefit from the same services (Saviano et al., 2018). Therefore, the organization must always implement those strategies that contribute to the implementation of the sustainability of the resources that are in existence.
