How homelessness relates to family and conservatism

The article presents the case of 27000 children who were sheltered by New York City in 1986 since they were homeless. A single-parent headed the families of such children. The participants indicated that homeless persons were due to evictions from their homes. The society has conserved the cultural beliefs concerning parenthood where it is delegated to mothers in some communities. Therefore, in the case of eviction or divorce, the parent lacks financial ability to support the children which in turn lead to homeliness. Different levels of the government have attempted to deal with the problem though there are crisis-related issues which hinder the process. There is evidence of the lack of affordable housing in the community. The cost of housing the homeless persons is high as New York could even spend approximately $ 35000 to shelter the affected group.

The case of the conservative rule in the country brings the abolition of wage councils which increases the unemployment rates. The unemployment effects in the incomes of the family member which increase crisis and evictions and as a result most people remain homeless. The economy is associated with low wage atmosphere and workers are forced to work more to increase productivity. The pressure in the job environment makes the employees avoid employment, and some choose to run away from their homes to sick refuge in other developed countries. The scenario of unemployment in such a case is dealt with by the widespread support from the welfare programmes.
