Data analysis
Many organizations own information on the nursing profession, and they go ahead to provide this information to other relevant people. The data published by the American Nurses Association shows the trends happening in nursing. This helps nursing students, governmental agencies, as well as the practising RNs to understand the profession better. Information from the American Nurses association helps organizations and institutions in the process of decision making.
From the data we received, gender parity in the nursing profession is still a problem. There are fewer males in the profession. In 2013, the number of male nurses improved by 6% since 2000. This is an improvement showing that more males are joining the profession (American Nurses Association, 2014). Males are still fewer in the field, and this is associated with the stereotype that nursing is a women’s profession. I can confirm this through my workplace, where there are only two male RNs.
There is such a vast gap between the nursing instructor’s salary and the qualified RNs. A registered nurse gets a salary of around $ 68,910, and a nursing instructor gets paid around $70,200 according to the American Nurses Association, (2014). In my view, the nursing instructor is justified to receive more salary. However, if the gap has to be bridged, the nursing instructor still deserves a better salary package for motivation in their work.
Reliability and Validity in Research
Validity is described as the capacity of a particular measuring tool to give a result close or similar to what is expected. This means that it focuses on how accurate the research findings are. On the other hand, reliability is the capacity of a measuring tool to produce consistent results. This means that the research is expected to be replicable. Therefore, reliability focuses on how precise the research findings are.
Collecting Data in an Unfamiliar Fields.
In a case where I am tasked with researching on a field that I’m not conversant with, I would consider hiring a research consultant who has experience in the same field to help me in the data collection process. This would help me deliver credible results and hence present a detailed analysis in my report.
