“My manager should care about this article because it will allow him to prepare a stimulus package for the employees better. The current Covid 19 crisis that is ravaging the globe has destroyed incomes and families are struggling to provide for their families. The most affected are families with disability cases or those whose members are old and are required to receive funds from the Social security safety net. By reading this article, my boss would get a primary source providing a breakdown of the government’s safety net, which would assist him in planning.
The article states that the government is planning to provide a safety net stimulus payment of one thousand and two hundred dollars to individuals who earn less than seventy-five thousand dollars a month. Married couples are eligible to seek two thousand four hundred dollars, while children under the age of seventeen can seek five hundred dollars. This payment is a response to the major layoffs and the increase in unemployment (Picchi, 2020). However, the article further explains that the government is experiencing difficulties in distributing money on time.
The article provides advice on how to seek out the payment. The three main methods of receiving money include direct deposits, direct express, and paper checks. However, this stimulus is not a replacement for social security recipients who will continue receiving their payment as before. Employers are requested to continue complying with social security agreements, as initially discussed and signed by the employment (Picchi, 2020). However, social security administration has confirmed that most recipients have begun receiving the stimulus package. However, the agency warns employers to form reducing their contribution unless prior communication.
