War is a trying period for both soldiers in the war, and the families left back home, especially the wives and children of the soldiers participating in the war.one of the most challenging moments is saying goodbye when the soldiers are about to live. At this moment, neither the families nor the soldiers have a clue of what to expect in the war. Wives and children have to let go of their dads in the hope they will be back after the war alive and unharmed. There are a lot of emotions that are involved since many people are seen crying and refusing to let go of their partners. When the soldier lives, many family members are left in sorrow as they don’t know if their people will return home safe and sound. In the war, soldiers go through many traumatic experiences that most of the first-timers in combat did not expect. Losing of friends, killing people, permanent injuries, and accidental deaths of innocent people are some experiences that soldiers are unable to get out of their brains. Since there are no therapists in the way, the soldiers have to encourage each other to be healthy and face the challenges head-on. In the way zone, the soldiers don’t feel the impact of the war on their mental health, but when they get home, post-traumatic stress begins to kick in as memories of the war begin to kick in. Most of the soldiers have trouble sleeping since the nightmare of the war haunts them. Soldiers with injuries from the fight keep on remembering the incidences that caused the injuries and what they could have done to prevent the incident from occurring.

When most of the soldiers return home, it becomes the family’s responsibility to take care of them and help them during that trying and tempting period. As a result, researchers have come up with some tips to help soldiers have an easy time getting back into society. Firstly, soldiers should request their family members to respect how they want to celebrate their come back from war. Some people may prefer a small group of family members and friends to celebrate their come back, while others prefer large parties to celebrate their homecoming. These wishes must be respected since different situations may trigger different memories and experienced that occurred in the war. Secondly, it vital that soldiers allow themselves to experience the emotions that the army is feeling at that period. Many soldiers, especially men, like to show their families that they are strong even after going through traumatic experiences in the war. As a result, they end up drinking and abusing drugs to forget their experiences in the war. Soldiers should allow themselves to feel sad for the friend they lost and the experiences they underwent.

Furthermore, soldiers should not overbook themselves with visits from friends and family members who would want to see them after the war. The main problem of many visitors is that people keep asking the same questions, and the issues may be bringing unpleasant memories from the war, the soldiers should take as much time as they need to heal both emotionally and physically from the war. Indeed, the soldiers should be patient with their recovery since it might take some time to get back into society fully. Some soldiers may be over-excited with returning home from the war and end up being in a hurry to return to how things were before the war.  They should understand that some changes may have occurred in them due to the way and take as much time as they need to recover from the effects of war fully.

Soldiers from the war should be cautious about how they spend after returning from the war. Due to the excitement of returning home, soldiers may find themselves overspending on parties and reunions with friends and families. They must save money from deployment since the future is not always guaranteed. Lastly, soldiers limit the use of alcohol as they try to recover from the traumatic experiences in the war. Studies have shown that most soldiers engage in a lot of drinking after the war. Soldiers should spend quality time with family and close friends for a fast recovery process.
