“The Heart of darkness”

In a nutshell, the Europeans had dominion over the Africans during Imperialism. As a heart of darkness the Africans were dehumanized and mistreated in the mystery of colonization, with an attitude of cruelty as they were believed to be of an inferior race.

The people from the European countries were categorized as the first race in the world due to their intentions of new ships and weapons.  It was known for its superiority. As a result of the idea of the missions brought up by the churches greed for resources increased the chances of the Spanish and Portuguese exploiting the African countries.  Superiority put the European Countries on a competitive edge and starts to take over. Conrad shows his concern over the imperialist exploitation of the natives. His visit to the Congo nation gave him an idea of the white Imperialism. Through the visit His thoughts were expanded and the directions to his reactions were grounded.

In his reaction, Marlow leans on the aspect of the Roman Conquest of Britain who were seen to conquer using brutal force. This result in robbery with violence which was inclusive of huge murders.  It was an outward reaction of making people of different reactions suffer by taking away what they owed. It is exactly under this suffering that a basic understanding of the situation and a suitable idea for all can perform some creative work amongst them. However the superior man ought to respect his duty that he governs so that clarity can be established on His intention and justification can be fair on the successful duties.

the Civilization of the natives is seen as the main aim of the European Imperialism in Africa. Conrad forced His adoption of the idea that Darkness was an effective course of his story. However, the positivity of the imperialism was an aim to assist the African Countries Grow, advance, and creating room for change while observing the morals and values of the underlying nations.

As a result of having better weapons and tools, there was abuse of power by the whites.  Marlow made the observations and didn’t make a point of stopping the war. This ultimately disapproves of his intentions and claim of helping African and rather contributes to his flaws which do not support his convictions. The aspect of enmity is a major icon and intensifies the reality between the Europeans and the Natives. “Here was a touch of insanity in the proceeding, a sense of lugubrious drollery in the sight: and it was not dissipated by somebody on board assuring me earnestly there was a camp of enemies!”  Slavery and cruelty deteriorate the urge to win against one another which results in racism and imperialism. The overall result of the gross mistreatment is death.  Some of the Natives are mistreated and overworked and left to die on their own. Marlow is blinded as not to see them as humans.

In his work, Conrad brings an aspect of ivory to symbolize the extent of destruction that a human can have on another human. In this case the white man’s greed was complemented by the white man’s commercial mentality. In the heart of darkness, the unhidden greed of power and rule over was a control verge that took a lead of their lives till their last breath. The Europeans took the advantage of civilization of Africa to dominate them in their land and make them slaves, which was influenced by the fact that, they thought because they were superior, they had the right to do so and their indifferences in color and behavior was factored into the conquest.

Although white races and cultures have been used as grounds of dominion over the African Countries, The European powers supersede their color as they have established their superiority in technology, innovations, and Inventions. This brings a ground, not of dehumanization but control over as a ground of help towards growth and development of the African Countries’
