Task group intervention model
One of the commonly used therapeutic models that have been found to be an effective intervention measure in both children and adults is the task groups. This kind of model, when applied in children, is important in the sense that it helps in strengthening the bonding among them. Apart from that, the use of task groups helps in the articulation of individual feelings as well as understanding the various concerns that might be raised (Velsor, 2009). Apart from that, the other notable importance of the task groups in children is that it helps in sharpening their overall development emotionally, behaviorally, and socially.
However, it should be noted that the task group intervention model is different from the traditional approach as it is an all-inclusive approach, whose aim is to enhance proper interaction among children with the aim of providing solutions to various problems in their lives. With the use of the task groups unlike the traditional approach, there are higher chances of collaboration. On the other hand, the main limitation with the task group model is that despite the fact that it can be applied in adults, it does not have all the elements that can help in finding solutions to all adult problems, thus making it unsuitable for use in other contexts that it is not intended for.
Nevertheless, the task group models can still be used in adults, and this can be through engaging them in cognitive and physical behavior orientation. The adults usually have some needs which cannot be easily met without following a proper inclusion criteria model. The most beneficial population for the application of the task group intervention model are children, and this is because the applied interventions are properly scrutinized to meet their needs (Velsor, 2009).
