Character strength and happiness
Social Intelligence
Social intelligence occurs in different ways based on an individual’s interaction with others in the social world. People display social intelligence through various modes, like making people tick. As a result, they know their personal feeling as well as motives and those in the social system (Aminpoor 166). However, cognitive aspects play a significant role as the central part of social intelligence through recognizing, knowing and understanding others as well as prevailing social norms and rules (Aminpoor 166). Similarly, social intelligence involved behavioral factors such as social adaptability and interaction with different people (Aminpoor 165). Personally, social intelligence significantly helps in fitting diverse social situations through feeling comfortable and sharing the right things at convenient people and place leading to gaining positive personal emotions like happiness. On personal experience, social intelligence critically helps in changing their behaviors aimed at achieving the desired goals in different social setups which makes individuals happy in daily activities. On the same note, my happiness originates from the social intelligence that provides the opportunity to negotiate and navigate through complicated social surroundings and relationship more so while in the school system. Furthermore, peace should exist in various social systems which persist as personal objectives in every surrounding. As per Aminpoor, social intelligence profoundly helps in getting the conflict situations calmed down, which brings happiness due to fulfillments of personal goals in the society (166). The article by Hassan Aminpoor “Relationship between social intelligence and happiness in Payame Noor University students” involves the research works conducted among the female and male university students to show and explains the relatedness between the social intelligence and individual happiness. Based on the research work, a fundamental positive association exist between personal social intelligence and happiness (Aminpoor 167). As a result, increases in individuals’ social intelligence proportionally result in a high level of joy in various social environments such as the university.
Spirituality and Faith
Faith and spirituality offer individuals with strength in dealing with various cultural and socials issues in different environments. According to Shoshani et al., based on scientific definition, spirituality exists as the search for connection with sacred (362). As personal strength, believing in the existence of dimension beyond the human understanding offers great joy and happiness. Similarly, possessing knowledge of the intimate connection between the divine and humans as well as the outcome of this relationship provides personal satisfaction (Shoshani et al. 377). On own understanding and experience, faith and spirituality closely relate to individuals well being and psychological adjustments in the daily lives. The two characters offer information opportunities to change behaviors and have positive development hence determined and focused on achieving various life goals related to the spiritual world. As per Shoshani et al., achieving such goals results in an individual’s happiness and motivation while interacting with different people in diverse environments (372). The study “A Longitudinal Study of Spirituality, Character Strengths, Subjective Well-Being, and Prosociality in Middle School Adolescents” shows and explains how faith and spirituality exist as character strength among different students. Based on this article, spirituality forms part of the transcendence category that comprises related strength of appreciating factors like humor, hope, beauty and gratitude (Shoshani et al. 375). The study concluded that adolescents who had firmly rooted in their faith and spiritual world persisted as happy based on daily activities.
Capacity to Love and Get Loved
The ability to get love and get loved exists as one of personal character strength that gives me happiness is never surrounding. Haslip and others explain that love as character strength gets defined as how a person approaches warmest and closest associations (533). On the personal ground, love exists as reciprocal in which it involved loving people in the surrounding and interactions as well as willing to receive love from others (Haslip et al. 549). Personally, companionate love gives me happiness in daily activities since it helps in associating with people from different situations and backgrounds but showing them love changes their thinking and some behaviours. According to Haslip and others, being kind to people and receiving the same treatment in various scenarios brings happiness and joy hence feeling satisfied and contented, thus love acting as character strength (540). The research on “How Do Children and Teachers Demonstrate Love, Kindness and Forgiveness? Findings from an Early Childhood Strength-Spotting Intervention” indicates how the teachers and children show love to each other resulting in forgiveness and happiness in the school system, which makes every individual happy to stay in the environment.
All the threes studies on social intelligence, love as well as faith and spirituality as character strength presented a well-organized research works. Furthermore, the sources provided and used comprises credible information through using highly controls and qualified research methods that enhanced gathering necessary information significant in this topic. Moreover, the research on “love” which indicate the love that exists between teachers and children leading to forgives significantly contributed to personal change in life. Learning the concepts of loving and forgiving changed my behaviours hence incorporating both virtues of love and forgive. On the other hand, the study on social intelligence would change personal practices while dealing with different social groups towards achieving personal goals that would increase my happiness. Finally, focusing on spirituality and faith article, I would increase my focus of spirituality hence achieving personal well-being as well as those of people in the social system.
