The First Article on Birds
Bird, David M. “The Bird Almanac: A Guide to Essential Facts and Figures of the World’s Birds.”
Various articles give information about birds. In the field of ornithology, the reason for studying birds is perhaps to understand the multiple ecosystems that provide life to earth. In the article, The Bird Almanac: a Guide to Essential Facts and Figures of the World’s Birds, David Bird highlights on various important bird facts. On this article, an analysis of this book is made. It covers the history, behaviour and biology of multiple birds. The commentary on the second part involves the world checklist of various species of birds. It is in the article that presents significant people that get to be listed in the several various tables. The analysis goes forth to give bird artists, Taverner cup winners, and world-class listers. The orthinological magazines and journals that are listed in the book are briefed in the article analysis. Another summary is a recommendation from Randy Lauff, who pens the article towards other future birders. He is from the Biological department of St. Francis Xavier University of Nova Scotia in Canada (Bird, 144).
In personal opinion, the article is a good road map to all learners who want to add to their knowledge of the bird kingdom. The Bird Almanac proves to be a valuable resource. It is a book that can be easily used as it has a quick find tab with a full detailed index. In a nutshell, the immense information is briefly described. My opinion, however, is that: The details could be little more explained since the article looks to be too shallow for the wide book. It is a good way to put forward a summary as Randy does and its benefits cannot be equated.
