Africa has a long history of contact in terms of trade, migration, and exchange of ideas with other regions of the world due to its strategic location. From the map it is located at the center thus makes it easier for trade. I think Africa has not been isolated from other continents because from the map it is located centrally. It is the most central continent boarded to the north by Europe, to the North East by Asia, to the East by Australia, to the west by North and South America.

Africa had the longest contact with Europe and Asia because of the distance. The distance between these two continents is short compared to other continents. North Africa had the earliest contact with other regions of the world because people from Europe and Asia could quickly come to North Africa.

Question A
Charity in Islam relates to the act of giving and sharing something to somebody without seeking a substitute in return. Thus, done with the intention of pleasing Allah. Accordingly, Muslims are required to donate to the poor and needy. They prescribe an obligatory charity referred to as Zakat, based on two and a half percent of one’s income and wealth. Charity in Islam serves many purposes.
First and foremost, it serves as the act of worship in Islam. Consequently, the Muslims believe that Allah has given them good health, wealth and time so that they can use them effectively for the service of Allah and the people. Therefore the smallest deed can have a significant impact on someone’s life. Thus this pleases Allah and is a form of worship. Secondly, through Sadaqah, another way of charity, it gives hope to Islam that through which one will earn the reward not only in your life but after your death too. Again, through sadaqah jariyah, they believe that Allah will bless one not alone in this world but hereafter as well. Another purpose of charity is that, giving from what we have given from the provider and owner of everything not only releases us from the disease of want but reminds us that everything belongs to the almighty.
Question B
Fasting is one of the requirements in the Islamic religion and is one of the pillars of Islam. Consequently, Muslims are required to fast from dawn to sunset during the month of Ramadan. Besides, people gather in the evening for a festive breaking of the fast. I believe that the purpose of fasting is to develop- the quality of righteousness inwardly and outwardly. This is through abstaining from sinful deeds and training ourselves to control our thoughts and desires. Also, fasting relates to a spiritual practice that is meant to benefit us in body mind and heart.

Pilgrimage refers to an annual Islamic journey to Mecca, Saudi Arabia the holiest city for Muslims and mandatory religious duty to be carried out at least once in their lifetime by all adult Muslims. It is therefore for those who are physical and financially capable of undertaking. Consequently, Hajj is seen as a chance to wipe clean past sins and start fresh. Also, many seek to deepen their faith on the Hajj since it serves not only a spiritual journey but also as a means of seeking forgiveness for the mistakes of the past as well. Again, Muslims perform Hajj as it is written to obtain blessings of Allah and emulate the life of prophet Mohamed who played it.

Muslims tenet of the sawn is that they are required to start fasting when they reach puberty. Again, Muslims are also supposed to refrain from food liquid and sexual activity. Also, they are supposed to abstain negative behaviors, for example, lying, gossip petty arguments or negative thoughts or actions. Besides, they believed that Ramadan was the month in which the revelation of the Quran to Muhammad began. As a result, they are encouraged to read the Quran during this month and gather in the evenings in mosques.

Jesus according to Islam is believed to be a prophet who neither married nor had any children. Consequently, he is reflected as a significant figure, is found in the Quran in about 93 verses with titles like “Son of Mary” and other related terms. On the other hand, Moses is referred to as a prominent prophet and a massager in Islam. Besides, his narrative is recounted the most among the prophets in the Quran. Again, is regarded by Muslims as one of the most prominent prophets in Islam along with Jesus. Therefore, Jesus is a prophet and like Moses a proclaimer of the law. David is similarly revered in Islam as a prophet and a messenger of God divinely anointed monarch of the ancient united kingdom of Israel. Furthermore, Muslims honor David for having received the divine revelation of the psalms.

Muslims prescribes an obligatory charity known as zakat based on two a half percent of one’s income and wealth. They regard this very highly because it is an act of worship and relates to the idea that all our wealth belongs to Allah. For Muslims protection, and win favor and blessings from Allah they, therefore, embrace Zakat in their daily lives.

Forgiveness for one’s sins in Islam is not something that comes automatically. It is done through sincere repentance and good works. Consequently, there is no original sin in Islam. Therefore, it is the act of leaving what God has prohibited and returning to what God has commanded. Muslims believes that Allah forgives their sins after repenting and abiding by his commandments.
Question E
Pilgrimage to Mecca (hajj) is a requirement for every Muslim to make a pilgrimage to Mecca the holiest place located in Saudi Arabia. It involves visiting the area once in their lifetime if financially and physically able. The Muslims believes that Mecca is home to the first house of worship of God, Kaaba. Besides, Muslims all over the world face towards the Kaaba when they pray. In summary, Hajj serves as a spiritual journey among Muslims.
