King Cyprus Leadership Attributes and Illustrations

When it comes to recognizing the achievements of the historically exemplary the world has seen, that list will be incomplete if Cyrus, the leader of Persia, is not included. Known to pioneer and set a precedence that the current modern leadership entails, Cyrus’ leadership attributes and virtues while in the reign was much of transformational and grounded on justice within the Persian Empire and beyond (Britannica, n.d.). Although the ruling of King Cyprus of the Persian Empire existed before civilization, his exemplary leadership skills typified by the peaceful coexistence of citizens and relying on justice during his reign is a fete that does not only meet a threshold of what good leadership entailed but also set a good precedence for leadership in future. The following are the illustrations backing up the above thesis.

First, the good deeds during Cyrus’ reign in Persia earned him the title “the father” in his nation. Apart from his military conquests and dramatic ascension to the ruling throne, King Cyprus managed to rule over a big population of subjects made up of individuals from different races and ethnicities, speaking different tongues (Britannica, n.d.). Despite the ethnic differences among the citizens in Persia, King Cyrus was able to unite them under a single rule, a fete that was hard to attain during that period (Britannica, n.d.). Such achievement did not only earn him the tag “the father” but also painted him as one of the greatest Kings that have ever existed.

Further, King Cyrus’ greatness is also evident in the Holy Scriptures, especially the Bible, where he is lauded for rescuing the Jews from slavery. In a period where a given race could be subjected to blatant slavery, and the Jews were in captives, King Cyrus offered the Jewish liberty and liberated them from slavery, as depicted in the Bible (Britannica, n.d.). By allowing them to return to their motherland and giving them their freedom back is another justification why King Cyprus is called the great by all races. These acts played a vital role in future leadership and ruling humanely, a blueprint for leadership in most democratic societies in the contemporary world.
