My five years plan
What is the importance of undertaking a rigorous academic training if there is no plan attached to the practice? Planning ensures that a person sets targets in their activities that they can achieve. Therefore, it is an essential aspect of professional skills development. It enables individuals to encore and builds them in specific fields. My five-year plan develops my imagination while eliminating fear and doubt. It covers job search, resumes, cover letters, professional goals, and personal goals.
Academic: I intend to finish my second Major in biology within the coming two years. The importance of completing my studies is to enable me to acquire the professional skills necessary in running my family winery business. As such, a biology major with a specific concentration on botany will arm me with the required knowledge.
Job Search: Job searches for the next five years may prove difficult. However, I plan to have a focused resume, interview skills, and a professional cover letter. The resume must highlight my academic professional, besides any accumulated job, internship, or volunteer work adds to my experience. Secondly, I will undertake a short leadership skills course to enhance my communication ability during interviews.
Professional Goals: I have two specific professional goals. Firstly, develop my family business and secondly develop myself into a prominent botany biologist. The first goal can be achieved by ensuring cooperation and coordination between my family members and I. I intend to take a central role as a company advisor. The second goal is achievable through securing myself a good job. Besides, I plan to engage in a lot of research and writing of biology articles to enhance my professional CV.
Personal Goals: I plan to create a diverse and robust personal social network within the first year. This network will enhance my professional life as well as develop my interpersonal relationship allowing me to develop family plans for the net years.
