Students should live in college dormitories since college administrators have determined and concluded that the benefits outweigh the costs. Furthermore, allowing the students to live dorms would make them be better students.
The most persuasive rationale for this conclusion originates from the fact that college administrators are typically older than college students. Due to their age, they possess more knowledge about the best things for the students. Recognizing this probability, we should support administrators’ advice that students stay in college dormitories should be made compulsory.

The fallacy comprises the urging of acceptance of opinion or position based on the fact that a higher number accepts the suggestions of views. Based on the passage above, based on the arguments that college administrators possess a higher level of knowledge and understand students better, people should agree with their decisions of students staying within the college dormitories. On the same note, based on the administrator’s opinion and support from different people on the benefits of students staying within college dormitories, they receive more support from other parties due to the high number supporting the idea.
Fallacy of Division
The fallacy assumes that what occurs as true of the whole persist as true for some portion or all. For instance, based on the passage, the benefits of the students staying in the dormitories outweighs cost exist as the truth of the whole or some portion. Similarly, staying in college dormitories makes the students persist as competent individuals. Moreover, not in all cases, the stay of students in college dormitories would result in being good people or accompany benefits than costs.
Hasty Generalization Fallacy
The fallacy consists of the employment of isolated examples or insufficient evidence as a foundation for the general conclusion. In this case, since college administrators agree that staying in college dormitories accompanies benefits than cost, the ideas receive support and general conclusion made. By using examples, concluding that students should stay in dorms hence becoming good people uses isolated instances to generalize the whole system.
