Planning for Quality
Quality management is a way of making sure that the entire operations of the project are efficient and effective concerning the targets of the objectives and its performance. Project quality management is an ongoing operation that begins and ends together with the project. Health care is a complicated sector. Quality health care is the extent to which services for people improves the chances of required health. It is a system that is available, affordable, accessible, appropriate, effective, efficient, integrated, safe, relevant, and related to patients. Quality management in health care is the observations of the functions of the health centre as an interaction of activities and procedures which are addressed both personally and publically. The quality of health services offered to patients is very critical. Therefore, it is urgent to bring about the transformation of the health care provisions (Walburg et al., 2006).
My project is called Diamond Health Services. In this project, I have identified some quality characteristics that can enable me to achieve quality management of my project. These characteristics include functionality, performance, reliability, timeliness, and consistency. Functionality is the extent to which the clinical machines achieve its intended operation while providing health services to the patients. Performance refers to the quality of services being offered to patients by nurses. Reliability, in my case, is the capability of the blood testing equipment to give results in a consistent and dependent way to assist in determining critical disease because the trusts of the patients depend on the quality of the results. Timeliness is the way of providing health services in time to solve dangerous situations and emergencies in the agency. Consistency refers to the act of performing clinical tests with similar procedures for all patients.
In ensuring quality in my project, I will use a quality plan and checklist to make sure the project staff and other health workers are providing the project services with the quality needed. The quality plan defines all the quality descriptions and standards related to the project, and consideration of these standards is necessary for complying with regulatory needs in the agency. I will develop a quality plan by identifying the quality and quality framework for my project. The structure will assist me in three ways, namely acting as the foundation for monitoring quality, second is by guiding my fields of interest, progress measuring and reporting, and lastly, by facilitating conversation both within and outside the agency. What guides my quality framework are the arrangement of my project strategies, aided by powerful leadership, proof-based, and targeted at boosting success in every stage of my agency (Caramanica et al., 2003).
Additionally, I will set strategic corporate targets and involve the Board and the top Executive staff in setting these goals and making sure that they are in line with the strategic plan of the project. Therefore, I will review and adjust the directions and goals yearly to display the urgency to aim at the pressing quality issues. I will ensure my objectives for the project will follow the SMART mnemonic that is the purposes should be specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time-bound. Also, I will develop a method to monitor performance concerning the quality goals by determining indicators for measuring progress. I will measure indicators at various levels by using Big Dots indicators for Board and the team of Senior Executive and Little Dots for quality Committee (Geidl, 2007). I will determine proper targets while considering factors such as past achievements, available benchmarks, available resources for focusing goals, amount of indicators within the plan. Moreover, I will identify activities required for the success of the agency; with every event will be tied to project objectives and measures, achievable in less than a year, every action will involve all staff at any level.
Further, I will perform a quality audit within the Diamond health service to ensure proper management of the operations. This activity will assist in improving performance currently and on future project operations. With quality managing, I will be able to review the way the agency is utilizing its internal functions in the provision of services to handle patients. I will also be able to adjust equipment, skills, and procedures that provide services within the project. If I encounter challenges while managing the quality of the project, I will deliver appropriate solutions to ensure quality reestablishment. However, I will closely monitor the results of my agency to identify whether they align with the related standards by controlling the quality of the project. I will determine various approaches to remove the sources of dismal performance in the agency.
To control the quality of my project, I will evaluate health services provided by the health workers and decide whether to accept or to reject the performance depending on the level of the quality. I will not take any rework; therefore, I will work tirelessly to ensure quality planning and management in my project as the situation is costly and time-consuming. I will act accordingly to challenges within quality control measurements by adjusting the operations producing results and the poor decision making that may result in errors (Chandrasekaran et al., 2012).
Conclusion
In conclusion, quality planning, quality management, and quality control of the project are very vital activities in ensuring quality management of the project. In my Diamond health services project, applying these processes contribute to a significant success within the agency. Patients require quality services, and so with planning, managing, and controlling the quality of the health services, they eventually get satisfied with the services offered by the nurses. Quality services and proper handling of appropriate activities contribute significantly to the development and improvement of the agency leading to achievements.
