Literature review

The first literature source is by Batres, Kramer, DeAngelis, & Russell and the big question that resources was conducting  research question on how the sue of cosmetics affects women behaviors and interactions. The main method that was used in deriving the main findings of the research work was a quantitative approach where restaurants were used as the research place. The behavior of men were observed in these restaurants on how they reacted to waitresses who either wore or did not have make-ups (Batres et al., 2019). In line with the research work, it was noted that men donated more significantly in comparison to female solicitors. The research findings affirmed that the behavior of men were greatly affected by women who used cosmetics.

The second research resource employed in supporting the main objectives of the research study is the research by Jones & Kramer (2016). The resource has primarily focused on answering the question on how the attractiveness of women is altered with the application of make-ups (Jones & Kramer, 2016). The main method employed in this research study is a qualitative approach where men and women were specifically asked on what they felt about the application of make-ups by their fellow women. This resource therefore investigated the effects by utilizing a number of faces in the research study. According to the findings of the research resource, it was noted that less attractive faces were greatly impacted in terms of attractiveness when make-ups were worn. For attractive models, less significant boosts were obtained from the use of make-ups.

The third resource use dfor this research proposal is by Tagai, Shimakura, Isobe, & Nittono, (2017) that seeks to answer the question of the advantages of light make-ups in facial processing: Evidence from event-related potentials. Facial Cosmetics and Attractiveness: Comparing the Effect Sizes of Professionally-Applied Cosmetics and Identity According to Jones and Kramer (2016), the article has affirmed that all forms of human body decorations exist in all cultures. Facial cosmetics has been stated in the article as one of the main ways in which women engage to enhance their beauty and self-confidence. Jones and Kramer further reiterate that people mainly put on make-up to improve their beauty and attract other people. Batres et al. (2019) also agrees that the use of make-up has considerable influence on an individual’s social interactions. This article was very critical in terms of drawing statistical data on how women’s use of cosmetics influenced men’s behaviors and general interaction with them. An article by Tagai et al. (2017) on the influence of light make-up advantage on facial processing also added that the use of make-up might be important for many women in their daily lives.

Method

This research will employ both quantitative and qualitative data. The quantitative approach will be conducted on a sample of women who use make-up and those who do not to derive the main objectives of the research. The qualitative approach, on the other hand, will use questionnaires and interviews where both genders will be asked how they generally feel about the use of make-up. The independent variable will be the use of make-up, and the independent ones will be the characteristics of the research participants. These variables will be evaluated based on the objectives of the research. Questionnaires will be used to gather data from the participants in the case study. Information and data on the research topic will be achieved by first identifying the research topic. Men and women participating in the research will then be informed about the research objectives and their expected response. Interviews and questionnaires will then be used to gather information on the research topic from the participants. After being collected, data will be evaluated to explore the main reasons why women wear make-up.
