NURSE PRACTITIONER
What have you found most interesting, and why?
The most exciting thing is that a nurse practitioner has been authorized to diagnose, treat, and prescribe medication to his or her patients. Interestingly, the nurse here can perform both nursing services and clinical services. It makes them eager to teach and learn because they are proud of their work (Barnes, 2015). Nurse Practitioners always have kind hearts, which makes them teach more of their skills to the upcoming nurses.
What subjects would you like to learn more about and why?
Anatomy. The reason is that I will be able to get more information on how both internal and external body organs functions. It will help me a lot to be able to make diagnoses and prescribe medications when I achieve my goals to become a nurse practitioner. By understanding Anatomy in detail, I will know much more about the strength and the weakness of every organ (Creamer & Austin, 2017). By so doing, I will not have a hard-academic period in becoming a nurse practitioner.
When researching your final paper, were there any facts or information that surprised you regarding your chosen research topic? Why/why not?
The fact that a nurse practitioner must have a master’s degree in nursing and that it serves the role of prescribing medication and conduct diagnosis made me surprised. The reason is that I thought that a nurse could not advance in his or her studies to play the role of a doctor (Jennings, Connell & Gardner, 2015). The fact made me gain the morale of wanting to study hard to get a master’s degree in nursing, which will make me become one of the top nurse practitioners in the country.
When completing your professional interview for your final paper, did you learn anything important that can help you to become a confident, competent, and compassionate nurse?
After completing my final interview paper, I have learned that one must be ready to teach and learn more to become a confident, competent, and compassionate nurse. From my interview, the nurse practitioner was very eager to respond to my questions, especially antibiotics. The nurse gave an exact and precise answer, which I understood as an upcoming nurse.
