The course has provided different religious doctrines that have expanded my knowledge of theology. Through the course content, I have known more about God and my Christian religion and how God is good to all people. The concept that has stood out for me is the inerrancy of the Bible and the doctrine of the Trinity. The course has provided adequate knowledge of the Trinity. Through the provision of scriptures from both the Old and New Testament, the author has shown that the Trinity is the core foundation of true religion. It is through the Trinity that the position of Jesus Christ is clearly outlined. The position of Jesus Christ as the son of God who came to earth and died for our sins forms the basis of most salvation missions. Through his death, we as sinners can negotiate with God and be reconnected again. In one of the course contents, Erickson outlined the “oneness of God” in the Old Testament by pointing out Shema highlighted in Deuteronomy 6.  In Genesis 1:26, the plurality of God is emphasized. The course content has stressed that some individuals do not believe in the plurality of God. Erickson provides a clear elaboration by stating that, “Walter Eichrodt believes that in using the plural of majesty, the writer of Genesis intended to preserve his cosmogony from any trace of polytheistic thought and at the same time to represent the Creator God as the absolute ruler and the only being whose will carries any weight.” The provisions have expanded my viewpoint on theology and how to argue with those opposing the plurality of God.

The inerrancy of the Bible provides supportive evidence to help in witnessing to non-Christians. The inerrancy of the Bible highlights that the Bible is the true word of God. Erickson describes full inerrancy as entirely true and whatever scientific and historical account the Bible does make are true

Erickson describes these historical and scientific references further, “Full inerrancy regards these references as phenomenal; that is, they are reported the way they appear to the human eye. They are not necessarily exact; rather, they are popular descriptions that often involve general references or approximations. Yet they are correct. What they teach is essentially correct in the way they teach it.” The doctrine of eth Trinity supported by the inerrancy of the Bible, has enlightened my understanding and facts when witnessing to non-Christians. I am proud to be part of the religion, justified by the Bible, which is the true word of God.
