The Book of Revelation
The Bible is a sacred book that has been used for many years to guide Christian deeds. It comprises two main parts: the New and the Old Testament. In these two main writings, several other sections are common, with each having a particular message concerning the doctrine of Christianity and salvation. Like any other aspect that has a beginning and an end, the Bible begins by documenting how man and the world came into existence through the book of Genesis and foreshadows end times in Revelation. Revelation, as a book of the Bible, is revered by many partly because they feel God is angry at people. Some people fear how the world will end and avoid reading the book altogether. However, the videos complied by the BibleProject concerning Revelation are quite exciting and, more importantly, informing as far the book of Revelation is concerned.
BibleProject’s videos illustrate the significance of the book revelation. It changes the long-held notion of Revelation as a scripture being the unjust treatment of Christians and scaring. As much as the book of Revelation is scaring, it talks about the reality about Christians and salvation. For example, in BibleProject’s videos in a particular overview of revelation chapters 1-11, John foresees message to the seven churches. Churches are projected to undergo apathy, immorality, affluence, and persecution. This Revelation reveals to Christians the importance of returning to God and adhere to commandments as the life outside the covenant way of life is terrible and full of persecution. Consequently, the videos reveal the real suffering that accompanies a Christian. Jesus never promised an easy following for his disciples. Instead, he demanded His disciples be well equipped and prepared as the redemption journey is full of sufferings and even rejections. This teaching has nicely been brought out in the analysis of the book of Revelation through John revealing the seven seals, seven trumpets, and seven bowls.
Although it is uncertain which suffering Christians are more likely to undergo, the sufferings are undoubtedly inevitable. This teaching calls for the importance of repentance. The book of Revelation also teaches about real hostility that is common in the typical life setting. This is captured in the story of two witnesses who are faithful and bold for Christ. They are persecuted because of their faith, and the world rejoices. This message reminds us that being a disciple of Jesus Christ is quite hectic, but it is rewarding. The two persecuted faithful are resurrected and judged. This scenario comes with two teachings: being faithful to God’s work, and there is life after death. The book of Revelation talks about the end times as a period of real glory. This time will be eternal, and people will be raised from the dead to be judged. In turn, they are stressing the importance of being a staunch Christian.
In conclusion, the book of Revelation has a great significance to Christians. It points out how the end times will be and highlights the nature of Jesus Christ. Jesus is considered a savior who was sent to liberate humankind from sins. Only Christians who would have stood by God in their lifetime will be rewarded. Temptations are there, but Christians need to understand how to avoid them.
