My topic is Special Education and Learning Disabilities.

What I learned when exploring my topic through the social science lens:

About 10% of the individuals within the United States (over 5 million) are struggling with learning disabilities, the common types of the disabilities being; dyslexia, dyscalculia and autism.

Learning disabilities are mainly tested through; intelligence tests, achievement tests, visual-motor integration, as well as language testing.

Learning disabilities can be addressed through various ways such as; medication, traditional therapy, educational and behavioral intervention as well as psychotherapy.
