Typically, the three models of communication are transactional model, interaction model, and action model (Parcell et al., 2016). The transactional model is a mixture of the interaction model and the action model. In this type of communication, there is no differentiation between the receiver and the sender as both sides will be sending information and receiving another one back. An excellent example of this model would be a regular conversation between two individuals where one narrates to the other person how their day was and the other person responds and then proceeds to narrate about theirs.

The interaction model of communication is a two-way process. The model differs from the action model since after a receiver decodes a message, it will send feedback to the sender (Parcell et al., 2016). The model is a two-way communication process. A good example in this model would be a girl talking about her pair of shoes and asks a friend how it looks. The friend will give feedback or her thoughts about the pair of shoes.

Action model is a single communication pathway, whereby, both the sender and the receiver decodes the message (Parcell et al., 2016). A good example is sitting in a class and having the professor teach without any interaction from the students. In this case, the professor is the sender while the receiver is the students

Question 2

Mainly, individuals often get distracted in the middle of a conversation. I recall vividly on the first day of the second semester, my pal and I were catching up on what how our winter season was. By then we were standing near our lecture hall and a lot of students were walking by. The motion was distracted as the place was very crowded with a lot of conversations going on among other individuals. This made me lose my train of thought and as a result, our conversation was shortened. To prevent that from happening next time, I think it would be appropriate to hold our conversation in a less crowded environment so that we can hear what each other is saying. A less crowded environment is also appropriate for one to formulate his or her thoughts.

Question 3

I think responsiveness and adaptability is the aspect that I would need to work to improve this semester. Most of the time I find it challenging especially when I am having a conversation with another person regarding a topic I am not familiar with. This makes me awkward as I do not have any content to share. As a result, I am only left with the option of letting the conversation die out and this makes me feel very self-cautious of whatever am saying. In that regard, I think that responsiveness ad adaptability is a vital trait for a psychiatrist, which hopefully my future career. A psychiatrist is supposed to sit with a patient and examine them via a conversation and making them feel comfortable. Hence, for me to assist other persons, I will require to feel more comfortable sharing things outside of my knowledge.
