MY PSYCHOLOGICAL EXPERIMENT

  1. WILL DOCTORS GET ANGRY WHEN THEY GET FRUSTRATED?

Generally speaking, there are a few main areas of frustrations that seem to be familiar to many doctors.

There are a few standard ‘frustrations’ relating to the patient. Th. They always require investigation and examination and, sometimes, admission to exclude an organic problem.

Another frustration is those patients who will not follow advice – often due to alcohol or drugs, they are a concern because of the potential to crash and burn, this worries doctors, and they make every effort to ensure that no harm befalls them.

The most distressing, the cause of frustration in the Emergency Department in most of the hospitals and that affect doctors is the death of patients. The sad fact is that some patients will die, despite the best efforts made by doctors.

2.HYPOTHESIS

If doctors are forced to give news about the death of a patient, they become frustrated. The most frustrating thing about being a doctor is when you have to declare to the family of the patient that their loved one is no longer alive. How can it not be frustrating to give such news to a mother whose youngest child has died in a car accident, or an uneducated unemployed village woman who has now become a widow and has to think about how she and her children are going to survive, or to the now fatherless son who is still in university but will be forced to mature overnight into the man of the house. No matter how many times you do it, it’s always the most frustrating thing.

If doctors are forced to work for long hours, they get hungry and stressed. He didn’t tell me his specific schedule, but he has on the clock almost all day especially with the higher responsibilities he needs to take, he says me that he sometimes felt that he was about to collapse in the middle or just let out his anger in the middle of the job.

If patients die, most doctors will get angry and frustrated despite their efforts. This is distressing, especially in the Emergency Department.

If a doctor is harassed when they are outside their office, they get frustrated. Most doctors don’t like it when you ask them medical questions about your child when you see them or meet them outside their office probably at the pool, library or grocery.

3.OPERATIONAL DEFINITION

The first of these is that, sometimes, the patients attend the department when they shouldn’t- this means that there is a fair number of patients who participate because ‘they can.’ With nothing physically wrong with them but an exhaustive knowledge of the ‘right thing to say,’ these patients take up a frustratingly good portion of clinical time

4.DEPENDENT AND INDEPENDENT VARIABLES

If patients die, most doctors will get angry and frustrated despite their efforts. This is distressing, especially in the Emergency Department.

Independent variable in this case is. The death of the patient

The dependent variable is ‘angry and frustrated.’

If a doctor is harassed when they are outside their office, they get frustrated. Most doctors don’t like it when you ask them medical questions about your child when you see them or meet them outside their office probably at the pool, library or grocery.

Independent variable is ‘doctor is harassed.’

The dependent variable is ‘they get frustrated.’

5.DESCRIPTION OF PARTICIPANTS

Demographic description.

My participants for the research are mainly middle age youths between 18 years and 35 years and adults falling between the age of 40yeras to 70 years. These are primarily comprised of both male and female, black and white from across the continent.

Assignment of the participants.

I will conduct random assignment of the participants into two groups. Those who are financially stable and can meet their hospital charges and those that are poor and have difficulty paying for their medical bills.

Another group will comprise of those experiencing severe medical conditions and can’t afford proper medical attention and those with the same conditions but can afford to pay for appropriate medical care.

How will the control group be treated exactly like the experimental group?

To ensure equal treatment of the two groups, it will be advisable to offer the same medical attention such as right or proper prescription of drugs by doctors.

The patients should also be admitted to the same facilities in case of emergency medical treatment.

There should be appropriate charges on drugs for both groups.

  1. PLANS TO CONTROL HAWTHORNE EFFECT.

I have decided to use the hospital work environment as a reference. Some of the initiatives to put in place to control Hawthorne effect error will include;

Conducted resources and engineering assessment to increase easy and convenient access to product and materials.

Developed hand hygiene champion posters/screensavers were depicting staff and physicians who work on the unit as reminders.

I have developed a patient/visitor hand hygiene education/awareness plan to include in the admissions packet.

Give awards for the highest-performing units, participation in meetings.

Continued focus on improving the facility’s safety climate and integrating hand hygiene into the patient experience program.

  1. My study will be a single-blind so as to keep my participants ignorant of either the group to which they have been assigned or key information about the materials they are assessing, but the experimenter is in possession of this knowledge. in this study, it might be advisable for more than the participants to be kept unaware of the test conditions. On the other hand, my study would be double-blind if both experimenter and participants are kept ignorant

8.a case in point that clearly indicate how frustrated one can be is to give such news to a mother whose youngest child has died in a car accident, or an uneducated unemployed village woman who has now become a widow and has to think about how she and her children are going to survive, or to the now fatherless son who is still in university but will be forced to mature overnight into the man of the house. No matter how many times you do it, it’s always the most frustrating thing.

Some patients will not follow advice – often due to alcohol or drugs, they are a concern because of the potential to crash and burn and this worries doctors.

It is also frustrating to work long hours for doctors. Long working hours prevents the doctor from spending enough time with his family.

9.if someone was going to do the study again I would recommend using teacher and students’ behavior to prove if similar responses can occur.

10.it is frustrating if a teacher is dealing with defiant students who do not care about the rules and regulations of the school.

A teacher vis was likely to get angry if he/she is handling a class of students whose academic performance is not promising. This demoralizes a teacher despite his efforts to ensure the students do well.
